Came to this eatery around 2 P.M.
Mr. Manny, our waiter, was very cordial. The staff appeared to work well amongst each other, too
Great ground beef and such fresh soft flour tortillas!!!
I didn’t like my chicken taco, though. The shredded chicken was over cooked and the red sauce used in it was too overwhelming.
Overall, it was tasty!
They also have delicious frozen margaritas and Features outdoor and indoor seating.
Server was polite however if you needed a refill or anything had to let her know in other locations they are more attentive. Rice, beans and chicken lacked seasoning. They forgot the sour cream and cheese for our fajitas. Beef fajitas, shrimp and ribs were delicious my husband loved them. Let server know about my pork allergy, manager came to my table and let me know that the grilled shrimp is wrapped on bacon something the server didn’t told us while ordering. Manager offered the butterflied shrimp instead and we agreed. Even though it was their mistake for not letting us know at the beginning they Charged me $14.95 for 4 butterflied shrimp instead of doing a substitution. Overall not a great experience to celebrate our 19 anniversary. Austin location is great.
I am honestly shocked by how bad our experience at Papacito’s was today. From the moment we got there, they put us in a corner by the window, which we were freezingthe whole time.
After waiting forever to place our order,
we waited an extremely long time for our food, over 45 minutes, when we arrived there was hardly anyone there so for us to have to wait that long— this was excessive. We were sitting there so long with no updates that we were on the verge of walking out. At one point, we genuinely debated leaving because it didn’t seem like our food was ever coming.
When the food finally arrived, it was shocking how poor the quality was. The portions were noticeably small, we ordered the same thing before and had a great amount of food in the past, we ordered fajas for two. It looked like they brought us fajitas for one! Even worse, the food was cold — not slightly cooled off, but clearly cold, as if it had been sitting in the kitchen for a long time before being brought to us. There was no steam, no warmth — nothing that suggested it had just been prepared. After finishing the food we were still so hungry because of the small portion we had received.
The most concerning part was the fries my young daughter had ordered. They had a distinct soapy, chemical-like taste that was impossible to ignore. It honestly made me question whether the cooking oil was old or if there was some kind of cleaning residue involved. It was so unpleasant that we couldn’t eat them at all. That’s not just a quality issue — that’s concerning.
Throughout the entire meal, no one came by to check on us. No one asked how the food was, no one refilled drinks, and no one seemed to notice (or care) that we were clearly unhappy. The lack of attentiveness made an already bad situation feel even worse.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was genuinely alarming. Between the extremely long wait, cold and undersized portions, fries that tasted like soap, and completely inattentive service, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I truly hope management looks into what’s going on, because something is seriously wrong.
