Haven’t been to Pepito’s in years. Like over 5 years. It looks the same. They were not busy at all. Of course it was 3:45pm. The youngest wanted Mexican. He enjoyed the cheese dip. I enjoyed a Patron Margarita. They have good salsa. They have good what I call “chunky Guac.” He enjoyed the steak, queso, and rice. We took a Chile Relleno, a quesadilla, and a burrito home. I gave it 4 stars because it just wasn’t the quality I’m used to. Please visit them and see for yourself and form your own opinion.

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience.
The service was very basic and lacked any special attention. The food was below average, and the steak I ordered was overcooked and tough. I also noticed that the cleanliness of the place wasn’t the best. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Great experience tonight. The food and service was excellent. I got the Carnitas street tacos, and they were fantastic! Hubby got chicken and steak fajitas which were also very good. Two margaritas … perfect! We will be back!

Me and family visited this place dinner. The food we ordered wasn’t good at all. The steak was very overcooked and so dry. My husband ordered his t bone steak medium rare and it was overly done and very dry.Usually you can’t go wrong with fajitas but my were terrible.My kids had food left and didn’t even want a to go box it was so terrible. Our waiter was very unattentive.we waited almost 10 minutes for napkins even stopped another waiter and he
never came back either. Service was poor food was disgusting we don’t mind the pricey $140 tab but at least give us some good food. My husband says his drink was good but mine was watered down. This is just not a good choice if you want good Mexican food. Would’ve gave them 1 star but at least they got the order right.

Wow! Talk about service! Amanda gave a 5 star experience! She gave a meal recommendation that turned out to be delicious. She was attentive, personable, professional. All the things you want in a dining experience. This is the kind of service that has you coming in asking if a particular someone is working today. Thank you, Amanda! I’m telling you right now. This is the Mexican restaurant you want to go to in Madison. Fresh chips. Fresh made in house tortillas. Delicious salsa. Everything 10/10. Stop even considering other options. Also if you can get him as your server, Eloy is the man!

Wow, was this place dirty! The floors and bathrooms were very off-putting. We were unfortunate in our timing since a party of 19 sat down before us. Their specialty drinks and food orders (which took over 30 minutes) were all done before we were acknowledged. No chips, no drinks, no nod across the room…no nothing. Once our waiter noticed us, he was still not friendly or intuitive. I ordered the lunch chicken fajitas and my lunch mate ordered the burrito lunch special. The food was okay, but not great. My fajitas were cold and the tortillas were rubbery. The bite I look of the burrito was better than my meal. The portions were large, so my kiddo was able to eat off of our plates and there were still leftovers. We will try somewhere else next time.

The restaurant is tucked away in one of the corners of the shopping mall. It was a nice place, and the food was very good. My one thing about today is that I felt like the service was a little frazzled. They seemed stressed, and worn thin, and not incredibly friendly and personable. However, the food was very good!

A tasty Mexican spot that has been there for a long time. Service is good but nothing special. The food is great. The papitos fiesta is hard to beat, although I didn’t think their homemade tortillas were amazing the last time I was there. Like most places, prices have gone up over the years and this is one of the more expensive Mexican places around Madison.
