Best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had. We waited an hour in the rain, and it was still worth it. Business is clearly booming, and I hope one day the master chef is able to train apprentices and expand so the wait times can decrease without compromising quality. This feels like more of a one time, special event treat with leftovers for the next day. Otherwise you will spend a good portion of your vacation waiting in line.
Much love though. There is obviously something special happening here.

We heard this was a staple and needed to try it. We also were told there would be a wait but it was worth it. All true!
We got there at 6:45am and walked out the door with our food at 9:05am. Probably one of the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever had.
The people operating Papi’s were so friendly, which made you feel like you waited for a good reason.
Even if you do it once, it’s worth the experience. Glad we made it.

Kind amazing staff. This is our third year visiting and getting Papa Ohana’s is a staple! The cinnamon rolls are large, decadent and melt in your mouth. The scones are always epic. I try a different one each trip. You’ll love it. The line goes by fast, but everything good in life is worth a little wait. Do yourself a favor and visit! You won’t regret it. ❤️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Worth a Try — But Maybe Not the 90-Minute Line
I had heard so much about Papi’s Ohana from both locals and fellow travelers, so I decided to check it out for myself. I arrived around 8:00 a.m. and, like many others, ended up waiting in line for 90 minutes — yes, ninety — as you’ll see from the photos.
I’ll admit, I seriously debated whether it was worth the wait. I don’t typically believe any food — especially breakfast pastries — should take that long to get, and I even considered leaving more than once. But eventually, I made it to the front and ordered the cinnamon roll, mango scone, and jalapeño & spam croissant.
The verdict? The pastries were definitely tasty and generously sized, especially the cinnamon roll and scone. They’re rich, fresh, and satisfying — no question they know how to bake. However, would I say it’s worth a 90-minute wait? Probably not. Interestingly, after grabbing coffee a block away at Bad Ass Coffee, I circled back — and they were still selling cinnamon rolls with no line in sight.
I get that many small businesses like this operate with limited staff and capacity, especially on the islands. But it’s hard to shake the feeling that the long wait has become part of the hype. Still, if you’re nearby and the line is reasonable — or you’re just in no rush — it’s absolutely worth a try. The baked goods live up to their reputation, just not necessarily the wait.
Pro tip: Get there closer to 10am, grab a coffee nearby, and check back — you might get lucky without the crowd.

Got in line at 7:50, made our order at 8:50, well worth the wait. Ordered 2- King David cinnamon roll, 2 scones, 1 focaccia bread made fresh 45$. Great price for excellent food. They serve pizza and other food which also looks great. Come after 09:00, the line was much shorter after we came finished our order.
Great service, sweet atmosphere, a must go to place while visiting the Maui.

First off meet Linda! She is amazing! Her energy, her light, her positivity is exceptional! Just go meet this lovely lady! Now on to the food. The line is long since the quality is excellent. I strolled in at 1:45pm just to see what it was about. They were sold out of everything, I was able to get a cinnamon roll. I left and got into my car and tried a bite. Then another and another. It was delicious! Went back in the morning and tried more of their delicious selections. They were scrumptious. Go here early. God bless this place!

Papi’s Ohana is a family owned bakery that offers humongous cinnamon rolls, croissants, scones, breads and pizza. They are open Mon, Tues, Thur and Fri. As we were staying in Ka’anapali, and Papi’s Ohana is located around the corner, it was my goal to hit it early in our trip and to stock up with cinnamon rolls for the week. With that plan in mind, I arrived at 6:20am and got in line. There were 30 odd people standing in the dark already. The bakery opened at 7:00 and I left a hour and a half later with 6 huge King David cinnamon rolls, hot out of the oven, a chocolate croissant, a Portuguese sausage croissant and a croissant with ham and swiss. Two days later, we’re still enjoying the cinnamon rolls! Highly recommend Papi’s Ohana for delicious cinnamon rolls.

We got there at 10 am on a Thursday and the line was shortening up and waited around 30 minutes. We got 2 cinnamon rolls and the are huge! Definitely worth it! They were sold out of about half their menu if you are looking to try other items later in the morning. While in line, there isn’t any shade so keep that in mind as you wait in the sun! Can’t wait to come back!

1000% worth the line an hype. These were absolutely the best cinnamon rolls we’ve ever had in our lives. To type off the experience, the employees are so friendly and kind. Cannot recommend this place enough. It has been our favorite stop along the island.

Everyone who visits Maui has heard of Papi’s for their famous cinnamon rolls from their social media. It really does live up to the hype. The rolls are huge, soft, pull apart in texture, covered in a tasty frosting. One is enough to split for two people. But even better than the roll was the ham and cheese croissant I had. Wow that was tasty.
The line here does suck, about 90 minutes standing in the hot sun. You can order coffee from the shop online and drink in line, but still expect more than a sixty minute wait.
