The food! Was! Amazing! The people working here are fun and friendly- it was worth every penny. My fried shrimp had a light flavorful batter and the fries tasted perfectly crispy. I had a bite of the catfish and also delicious. The beignets were light and crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Love that!

We stopped into Papion’s for a late lunch and couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. The shrimp poboy, gumbo and sweet tea were all great. However, the crawfish étouffée and bread pudding were outstanding! It’s a laid back casual setting with helpful staff.

Found this amazing restaurant on a whim. Food was top tier! Service was quick. Bobby provided us great customer service even when we arrived a hour before closing. The Mardi Gras nachos were my favorite. I am looking forward to trying other dishes from their menu.

Staying over at the downtown hotel I found this place as I was searching out shrimp Poboy while passing through for work. It was delicious and fresh and hot! The shrimp were large, lightly breaded and fried perfectly. They did a wonderful job and the quality shown through. There was a little bit of a wait for The to go order as I think that they were so busy they forgot about it, but I’m not gonna fault them for it. They were working hard. Their hospitality was wonderful and they were truly working hard for a lovely experience. Next time I stay in Shreveport on work, I’m definitely coming back and hopefully be able to eat-in this time! Thank you guys!

Decided to go here for date night. Easy street side parking. The outside could use a little bit more lighting. Once we entered we were greeted quickly. Like the way the tables were set up for two top on the left and four or more on the right.

They didn’t have any appetizers on the menu so we decided to get the Crawfish cheese bread as a side item first. It was tasty but it wasn’t really hot enough.

We got the Orleans pasta and gumbo as our entree. Both dishes were amazing extremely tasty, well seasoned, and served hot. We even found out if we can find the two sauces together it was an amazing mix. The owner just might make a new dish out of that.

The interior was a classic black and white with just enough colored decor to make it charming. The music was awesome and thoroughly enjoyable. It wasn’t too loud at all.

We decided to get bread pudding for dessert. It was extremely well seasoned and homemade. Took banana cheesecake in a jar home for a lighter treat.

We enjoyed our visit and will return in the future. We highly recommend that you try this restaurant. It closes at 8:00 p.m. no reservations needed.

So we went in tonight with family. The restaurant was busy and we were told they were short staffed. The wait was long but when the food came, totally worth the wait!
The shrimp po-boy was loaded with shrimp. Bread was fresh and chewy. Absolutely perfect texture. Sauce was creamy and the flavor was outstanding.
The seafood mac & cheese was so well flavored. Just a hint of spice on the back end. The cheese was creamy with an excellent stretch but not overwhelming. The seafood was a nice touch.
The gumbo, well I can see why it was famous. The spice was a blend of pure goodness. Warm, savory, the ultimate comfort food.
The restaurant owner was so kindhearted and went above and beyond to take care of us. The decor was modern and artsy.
We will definitely be back when in town again.
The beignets were amazing!

I got the Pasta Orleans and a French Quarter mocktail, both are 10/10. The staff is very attentive. The back of house is a little slow, but it’s worth the wait. I did get the key lime pie and banana pudding cheesecake jars to go. I was a little disappointed in them. The key lime pie one had no citrus flavor whatsoever. All you could tasted was cream cheese. I’m most definitely planning on going back to try other things on the menu.

Coming from Australia and this is my first experience with Louisiana cuisine, and wowie what a treat! The lovely lady who served me was so kind and friendly! The gumbo, chicken special, beignets and crawfish were absolutely fantastic! I have never tasted anything like gumbo and it was absolutely delicious!!!

What a great find! We travel through Shreveport every few months and just found this place. Now it will be our go-to for lunch or dinner! Our appetizer was the boudin balls, which were yummy! I got the Mardi Gras Nachos for my meal and just could not stop saying how great they were! My husband really enjoyed the Crawfish Étouffée! For dessert, we fought over the glazed beignets! We had never had them glazed before and they were amazing! If you are looking for authentic excellent Creole food, you must eat here!

Amazing restaurant reminiscent of New Orleans cafes!
My parents and I ate at Papion’s in the middle of the afternoon during the week. Immediately I could tell they were short staffed, but they were kind, friendly, composed, and still took the time to provide excellent service that was definitely steps above casual dining. The atmosphere was very clean, with light ambient music setting the scene for a relaxing meal with friends or family. It was nice to be able to hear what my family was saying and not have to yell over the music.
My mom ordered the gumbo, my dad the catfish and shrimp basket, and I ordered the Monday special: a delicious burger mixed with andouille sausage and a fantastic house made sauce. We ended up sharing all the dishes, because they were all so good we couldn’t keep them to ourselves! The gumbo, the best I can ever remember eating, was a touch spicy, and bursting with delicious flavor. The catfish and shrimp had a unique batter that was crispy, yet they were perfectly cooked and maybe the best catfish we’ve ever had. My burger was the most unique burger I’ve ever eaten, in the best way! The flavors were absolutely amazing, and the brioche bun was fresh and perfectly browned. We finished it off with a bread pudding that was just perfect.
We would recommend this restaurant to anyone local or passing through. We’ll definitely be back!
