Breakfast, brunch, and cocktails served in a warm, hip restaurant with a patio.

I had the potato and chorizo empanada and the cheesy hash brown casserole. The empanada dough was flaky and delicious and the filling was really well balanced. The hash browns casserole had a beautiful crispy exterior and a creamy inside. It came with a jalapeño sauce that gave it a nice heat and just amazing. My husband had the pancakes with scrambled eggs and holy pancake it was huge and fluffy and the eggs were done perfectly 10/10 highly recommend. I will say that it’s easier to get in with a reservation or go really early.

If you’re looking for a breakfast that feels a bit more elevated than your standard diner, this is the spot. Their menu features some truly elegant and unique options. I tried the Migas, and the texture was spot on—the mix of eggs, fresh corn tortillas, pico de gallo, and cheese was delicious. It stays packed here..Even on a Friday, it was buzzing. Expect a wait, though I managed to snag a spot at the bar pretty quickly. There is a small lot upfront, but don’t panic if it’s full—there is additional parking in the back alley. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive despite how busy they are.
The coffee was just “okay,” but the fresh food and great service make it well worth the price and the visit.

UPDATE: Paperboy continues to be a 5 star spot with amazing hospitality/service! We went on Saturday 3/7, and the rain took the power out right after we got our drinks and cinnamon toast. They completely comped our drinks/food and even gave us a free orange brioche roll which was delicious! We appreciated this gesture so much and they handled the power outage situation so well!!
The hype is real!! We got the migas and steak sandwich, and received a free cinnamon toast for my birthday. The first bite of that toast may have been the best bite of any food I’ve had recently—crisp, caramelized toast covered with tangy, buttery, and not-too-sweet mascarpone spread, topped with a salty and sweet walnut streudel. Chefs kiss! We’re super excited to try the chicken and biscuits next time since we saw them at another table and they looked absolutely amazing!!

Drinks are boozy, generous portion, definitely one level above the average brunch spot in Austin. I recommend to put an alert on open table to secure a spot if you don’t want to wait. Else you will accidentally order an extra cocktail while waiting in line 😉

Absolutely amazing food with a lovely atmosphere and staff. The poblano & cheddar biscuits are addictive, especially with the jalapeño jam. I am also pretty sure the Earl Grey Cold Brew has ruined my life since I do not live here and have not found anything comparable to it in my area. Very friendly staff, and the dishes are beautiful and delicious. Cheddar hashbrown was also delicious.

This is the place I’ve been searching for—breakfast actually worth getting out of the house for. It’s not your typical take on breakfast, and that’s exactly what makes it so special. I recommend getting there early, because the waitlist fills up fast. The last time I went, the wait was two hours, but luckily the bar had an open seat for a single. And honestly, the flavor is the reason the wait exists. It’s absolutely worth it.
The crew is incredible. The entire time I was there, they moved in unison, sending out dish after dish with perfect presentation. They worked harder than some construction crews I’ve seen recently—completely in sync and never missing a beat. They were just as impressive as the food.
Now I understand why this spot is a true Austin, TX staple. The OG Texas Hash is my top recommendation—a beautiful blend of sweet potatoes, roasted pork, kale, and a perfectly poached egg. It was incredible.

Super cute spot! The staff is cool and friendly. The food was really interesting and tasty. Loved the patio seating. We got the classic breakfast, which was solid. Good portion. Also the empanada and guava poptart. Both crazy good. The pop tart is sweet like a dessert but the tart guava filling is a nice balance. The empanada super tasty and savory. Excellent filling. Can’t wait to come here again and try more menu items!

Went there for breakfast. Head up – waited for ~ 1.5 hours to be sewted. We got the the lox plate as a shareable, which was very fresh and tasty. Also got the chicken and biscuits—super flavorful but very heavy and filling, so pace yourself. The steak and eggs were okay (I’ve definitely had better steaks). The pancakes were really fluffy, not too sweet, and the blueberries were just the right amount

We’ve eaten here twice now and we’d say this is a good breakfast spot. Reservations are recommended, walk in can be risky here since the restaurant is small and they have reached wait list capacity before. We’ve had the cinnamon toast, b.e.c. sandwich, migas with carnitas, chicken & biscuit, and jalapeño and cheddar biscuits and all have been good. I would not recommend any alcoholic drinks (tasted like non alcoholic & expensive) and just stick to the coffee. Service can also be hit or miss here with frequency of check ins, refilling coffee, and removal of plates so the table isn’t crowded. Atmosphere wise the tables can be close together where everyone can really hear conversation. Overall we’d come back on a whim, but we wouldn’t book it months in advance to come back.

I had the best experience at Paperboy! I had the BEC sandwich, cheddar hash brown, and black sesame latte—everything was absolutely perfect and so delicious. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and super helpful when it came to deciding what to order. I highly recommend it!
