I remember traveling with my dad in the 80s he was an Alaskan heavy hauler for Hill &Hill and JH Rose. As kids were the coolest kids ever!! Hanging out at their bar. Dad even helped repair the roof! From the daughter of Kurt and Irene Koch. CB handle Blue Jay or that German guy and his wife!

We came in one night. Parked in the rest area. Middle of winter, so cold, so desolate… The bar was warm. We had whiskey and they had beer. Some of the locals had brought some food, buffet style.
We were warmed, we were given drinks and we were welcomed to eat.
It was amazing. The small slice of heaven on Earth.
