My wife’s family is from Venezuela and she has been eating Venezuelan foods her whole life. I also have grown to love Venezuelan foods particularly arepas. So both of our excitement was off the charts when we learned of this place being not too far from us. We were absolutely not let down. The food is absolutely fantastic and has me wanting to go back every week. Their drink options include various Venezuelan drinks like Malta which I am quite fond of. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to converse with us in Spanish and make sure we are all good. To the average consumer the price may be on the higher end but arepas that are well made like this are hard to make and are very filling so it is absolutely worth the price. We often get two different arepas and cachapas on the side. We will be coming back many times throughout our time in Pittsburgh. (Also park in the giant eagle lot it is much easier)

So incredibly delicious!!! On our first visit, I got the Armando’s arepa and my husband got the Pabellon arepa. We also tried the passion fruit juice. Across the board delicious. I cannot wait to come back.

$12 for delicious venezuelan sandwich. It better and richer than a taco. Comes out pretty fast. The restaurant is pretty small and has only like 3 tables, so would recommend take out only.

We were recently turned on to homemade Venezuelan arepas on vacation, came home to Squirell Hill, tried these – Oh my goodness! They are perfect. How fun, different, tasty, and filling! The chicken salad Arepa is a thing, scarfed it down, 1 was plenty. The garlic sauce is heaven. The passionfruit is a pudding dessert:) Great friendly staff when walked in. They know what they are doing. I ordered on UberEats and picked up ~ 4pm, ready in ~ 20 minutes. We are going back tomorrow for more. Love the menu. Understood it better in the restaurant than on the UberEats delivery menu. Will order the other dessert!

Came here to try this because I go to a spot that is downtown. This was absolutely delicious.
The meats are tender and flavorful for the bowl and Arepas, and the empanadas are delicious with a crispy outside and a soft doughy inside. They served all these with a delicious white and green sauce! Highly recommend to come here.

Take out spot for arepas! I had the Arepa Pabellon Beef, and it was pretty good. Would have added some hot sauce if I had some on hand, but a great fresh dinner option. There is street seating right around the corner too- so don’t be worried by limited in-house seating.

New spot for Venezuelan food. I was a little disappointed but it’s just one of their first few months in business, so I may give them a shot again later. I tried the ‘one of each’ empanada combination: one chicken empanada, one shredded beef empanada, and one cheese empanada.

My favorite out of the three was definitely the beef empanada. The meat was tender and had the perfect texture. It was flavorful and juicy, crispy, and overall great. I would recommend probably just getting 3 beef empanadas rather than a sampling since it was far better than the others.

The chicken was still pretty good. It wasn’t as flavorful and juicy as the beef but still not bad. The chicken was milder, and it went really well with the side sauce.

Now, my least favorite and the one I would almost definitely recommend skipping is the cheese empanada. I’m usually a huge fan of cheese, but this was just extremely underwhelming. It was way, way too greasy and had almost no flavor at all. No spice, no garlic, no anything. Not worth it.

The empanadas themselves are all made from corn. So, they are a bit crunchy and hard. I’m not the biggest fan of the corn, and would prefer a softer empanada like at Mi Empanada. The sauce they served these with was awesome. A tad creamy and super tasty.

All in all, maybe this place needs some more time to establish themselves. They do have some cool items like golfeados and arepas, but the empanadas were underwhelming. If you do come here, try the beef empanada.

Overall pretty good. Higher prices compared to other Venezuelan places in Pittsburgh are presumingly due to the neighborhood. Tequeños were really good! The golfeado was a nice size but was overpowered by the molasses. I’ve tried them before when I lived in Uruguay and my Venezuelan friend used less molasses which was more my preference. Still cool they have it on the menu as I haven’t seen it at the other places in Pittsburgh. Def give this place a try if you’re nearby!

I love the veggie arepas here. I recommend the queso fresco. The portions are very generous and price is on point. Staff is friendly and fast.
