Found this pretty Venezuelan place when I Googled “pistachio coffee.” What a breath of fresh air. There’s little variety on the east side compared to further west starting at Van Dyke so this place is EXACTLY what’s needed. There’s a shop inside full of mostly Venezuelan products and I bought the cane sugar cookies and pasta de aji dulce. They have frozen products as well and next time I’m grabbing a box of arepas for home.

The menu is big for a smaller place and there were people eating and drinking at a table in the seating area. Unfortunately I was in a rush and ordered my pistachio latte to go, but will return to sit down and order soon.

I would eat here every day if it was closer. We drove here from Ferndale (only about 20 minutes) just to try this place because at local tiktoker did a review and the food looked great.

It was absolutely delicious! So full of flavor. You must try an Arepa, cheesey meaty goodness!

Lucky for us I learned that their food truck is at Urbanrest in Ferndale on Sundays, so we will be there often!

Stopped in to try this place out and it food I not disappoint! The service was very funny and helpful. I witnessed the woman patiently help and explain things to the group in front of me for a while and never losing her happy smile. The gentleman was also kind and I expressed I loved their green sauce they served on the side with the arepas and he send me home with many extra sides of it! Their sweet treats taste homemade and delicious and their iced coffee drinks are very good and taste like real coffee. I can’t wait to come back and try other items they have to offer!! Hidden gem for sure

A very welcoming place with great Venezuelan food and groceries. My fav was the cachapa with half and half beef and chicken with the cilantro sauce. The cilantro sauce compliments the arepa really well. Loved the food, atmosphere and the people. Definitely recommend this place.

Que rico! This vegan was happy to enjoy some vegan options at this Venezuelan cafe. All food is prepared in their on-site food truck and there is also a tiny section that sells some Venezuelan pantry items. Seating is ample with both tables and hi-tops and there is a tiny play area for children. The flavors of this Venezuelan street food are rich and lively–the sweet plantains and tostones are my favorites–and it’s just nice to enjoy a culture that is a long-welcome surprise in white bread Saint Clair Shores.

This place is amazing. The fried chicken arepa, cheese sticks with guava & dessert are absolutely delicious.
Suggestion: I think that they should park the food truck on the grass along Harper to allow people to come up on the sidewalk to enjoy delicious Venezuelan food. This place is a hidden gem.

Fantastic Venezuelan food! This place is a gem. It’s a restaurant, market, and coffee shop. Everything I’ve tasted here has been excellent. Definitely start with the tequeños. The arepas are all very good but the one with beef, cheese, beans, & plantains is my favorite. They’ve got a lot of unique groceries and sodas as well.

Crazy good food. The Full House Cachapas was almost life-changing. Girlfriend had an Arepa and we got some Tostones we thought we over-ordered when we got the food…but it was so incredible we ate every bite!! The employees help you order and are very descriptive of everything so you don’t have to worry about trying new things.

We ordered coffee on the way out and it was also fantastic. Definitely going back.

The market with the attached truck is a great idea & it’s a beautiful little place and they have toys to distract kids!

First time, beautiful building and awesome wall art! Greeted by a smiling face willing to help us understand the food better, ordered a few items and the food was wonderful, packed with flavor and depth. They even let me know the best way to reheat the food as our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, I can’t wait to try the rest of the food and explore more.

What a gem! I’ve now been here twice, and both visits have been delicious. We tried the Reina (chicken salad cachapa), cheese cachapa, and shredded beef arepa – all fantastic. The arepa from Papelon was much better flavor than others I’ve eaten in Detroit. The arepa was cooked and seasoned perfectly; the filling was substantial, and they provided various sauces to go with it. I also tried the Chicha, which i had expected to be more similar to chichame, but was a thicker, desert like drink – it was great. Like a horchata milk shake.
