Edit: Made it back for the second time for dinner with my parents. Mom had pulled pork, dad and hubby has the 4 rib meal, and I had the pulled pork sandwich again. It was so good! Have the honey hot BBQ sauce. It’s delicious!
We’ve been meaning to stop by Papaw’s and we got to meet Don and chat with him about his food. We returned layer that afternoon and picked up 4 ribs and a pulled pork sandwich. The apple pie was recommended to us so we got a couple of slices as well. Both the ribs and pulled pork were delicious. The pork had no fat in it and I really appreciated that. I loved the hot honey BBQ sauce and my husband liked the Carolina mustard BBQ sauce. The apple pie filling was really good but the crust was way too thick and almost bread-y and we wouldn’t get it again. All-in-all, we’d return for the meat again.

I found my new favorite barbecue spot. If you are in the Blue Ridge area you need only to go to this location for your barbecue desires. I was greeted by a lady sitting in a chair in front of the building who promptly came over to take my order. I asked for recommendations and she did not lead me in the wrong direction. I ordered the brisket with potato salad and coleslaw and the surprise was the sauce that I chose. You have to try the honey hot sauce even if you just sample it. The best part was having a conversation with the owner about his pride in being in competitions. You know you’re in a good spot when the locals to get the great food. Thanks for the experience

Do not stop here.Located in an old, run-down, nasty food tralier. Boiled brisket. It was the most dry rubbery, tough peice of meat I’ve ever come across. Hands down the worst bbq ive experienced.texas toast is a peice of white bread in their opinion. (EDIT AFTER RESPONSE)This was not your neighbors. I’ve never eaten there, and I wish I had. I understand trying to cover your own butt. This is 100% your food. Take responsibility and do better. You tell everyone they have the wrong place when properly reviewing your trash bbq. I would be more than happy to co.e and take pictures of your smoke area and tralier and upload them as well.

Fantastic BBQ. Stopped in on the way back home from White Path golf course. The brisket is great as well as the hot bbq sauce. Just enough kick without over powering the meat. Just found my go to spot after golf.

I’m 47 years old and eat BBQ regularly. This was by far some of the best I’ve ever had. The brisket was the juiciest and most tender I’ve ever eaten. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the wings were excellent. Baked beans and potato salad were also good. We tried three of the sauces and all were excellent. He let us sample a piece of the turkey and it was absolutely delicious. If we lived closer, we would eat here all the time. I’m already planning to come up here next Thanksgiving to get some of this turkey. It’s worth the drive.
