Absolutely the best wings we ever had!! Fried chicken sandwich and Bourbon burger was to die for!! The Mac and cheese sealed the deal!! The sweet potato dish was out of this world!! Did I mention the fried catfish? I am now and yes Catherine and I tried everything we could!! The baked beans and fries were totally awesome as well!! This place is motorcycle friendly and the owners ride as well. This is a great place for everyone your family or your motorcycle crew. The owners were very nice and the service was great and we were not rushed and we ordered as much as we could. I would give this six stars. We ordered the cheese steak to go. It was totally amazing ☺️

We were on vacation and found this hidden gem! Hands down some of the best soul food you can find! The owner came out to talk us and make sure everything was good and is such a down to earth and humble guy! The catfish is some of the best catfish I (and my daughter) have ever had, the seasoning is a family secret and has the best crisp on it. My husband had the steak and cheese and that was also a winner. The Mac n cheese, sweet potatoes and collards were really good also. A must stop if you live in the area or are just passing through!

Exceptional service and super delicious food! Papa’s Kitchen did an extremely short notice catering job for 50 people and I could not be more impressed and pleased! The owner is extremely professional, efficient and helpful. He went above and beyond to help me. Our guests loved all of the food and could not stop talking about it especially the catfish! Highly recommend and I will definitely return to Papa’s Kitchen!

Some of the best soul food I’ve had ever, not just in this area! The owners are so sweet and accommodating. My mom had been searching for pork chops and when we got here, we thought it was closed, but they invited us in, saying as long as he was cooking, he was serving! The catfish and pork chop are phenomenal, the mac and cheese is amazing, all the food is perfect. They let us stay and eat and gave us another round of drinks to be extra hospitable. I can’t thank them for providing such great service and food enough. It probably has made my mom’s week haha. Can’t wait to come back!

I had Jay’s catfish with yams and baked beans. It was incredible! INCREDIBLE!!! Tender, juicy, flavorful, delicate, delicious. If you live in Waynesboro you should already know all about Papa’s Kitchen; if you don’t, go there now. If, like me, you’re passing by on the freeway, it is 100% worth the detour if you want real cooking, from the heart, from the soul, that will make you feel good all over. Trust me, you’ll thank me.

The catfish was awesome! Candied yams wltasted more like a dessert. My only regret is not having room for the Onion ring burger, cheese steak, dessert and everything else. Definitely eat here or get the takeout. This place is hard to find, which means it’s worth the effort!

This place is a hidden GEM in Waynesboro, VA. True Soul Food, made with love. I almost cried it was so good!! Had the catfish, sweet potatoes and collard greens with Banana Cheese cake pudding. Excellent catfish! And ganerous–two meals for me, along with Mac and cheese. Nice people. A little hard to find–I circled back and glad I did. Out back of what looks like a store. TWO WEEKS LATER: I have to add to this review—I DREAM about that catfish! So perfectly crisp, right spices, superb ungreasy fish. I’m glad my sister moved to Virginia—I will be back!

We had a great lunch here of onion ring cheeseburger and chicken sandwich. The burger was a double patty and the chicken sandwich also had two full pieces of well fried chicken. The owner came out to talk to us when we ate at the picnic tables and shared that he opened in May last year mid Covid and feeds people like he would like to be fed. The portions are beyond and the prices are under what you would expect for what you get. Sad they didn’t have the banana pudding today, but probably couldn’t have found room for it. Next time. Not sure why the FB profile says temporary closed. They were definitely open and ready to serve.

Driving through Virginia looking for someplace to eat good food. Decided to stop in Waynesboro at Papas Kitchen. We had the best and perfectly made food. The yam crusted chicken and cat fish was out of this world. Let’s not forget the sides and portions. A must go.
