Dinners with Dad, episode 817…was supposed to be a ‘light’ dinner but you know how it can be when trying out a new spot! Finally, a place to get decent jajjang and jampong in the Johns Creek area! Dumplings (boiled and fried), Kkangpongi (fried chicken pieces), Beef Noodle Soup, all delicious! Tiny place, so expect a little wait during busy hours but as good as the food was, the gentleman working the front is fantastic! Not only with us (he told Jeanie and I that dad was a regular and remembered part of his order) but with every single guest that came in he welcomed them like they were family…there were Americans, Indians, Chinese, Hispanics, and Koreans dining there…if you’re in the area, definitely check them out!

Made the trek from roswell for dumplings and wasn’t disappointed! Great day for soup as well. Second time this month where I’ve wished that menus has more details for neophytes. Some folks were ordering generous sweet and sour and fried entrees that I couldn’t identify on menu but would like to try next visit.

Found this restaurant through a friend who recommended a Korean/Chinese restaurant.
It’s in shopping mall in Johns Creek. Space is limited for seating though it looked like they do a good number of to go orders. You walk up to the counter and place your order, they give you a pager and you pick up your food.
We ordered Kung Pao Shrimp, Sweet and Sour Beef, Mixed Vegetables, and JaJangMein (noodles in black bean sauce). Overall, the JaJangMein was probably the best out of the 4 items we tried. The vegetables were good as well. The dining room was loud and tight. It’s more fast casual dining than a restaurant style dining with servers. I’d like to try their dumplings next time. Give them a try.

Papa’s Dumpling is a great spot for a casual meal with family. The prices are reasonable, and the food is solid overall. I especially enjoyed the seafood noodle soup — flavorful broth and fresh ingredients made it a standout. The black noodles were just okay; the noodles themselves lacked texture, but the sauces really elevated the dish.
The restaurant is small inside, but cozy enough for a comfortable sit-down meal. It was very busy during lunch, which speaks to its popularity. One unique aspect is that customers clear their own plates, which means you save on tips — a nice touch for a quick, no-frills dining experience.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving dumplings or noodle soup!

Amazing food! Chili oil dumplings were full of filling and wonton skin was perfectly cooked. Jjajangmyeon was very flavorful and the fried pork was a pleasant surprise. Best hot and sour soup I ever had!

A simple, self-service Korean style Chinese restaurant! The interior is clean and bright, and it got pretty busy at dinner time. The black bean noodles, sweet and sour pork, Taiwanese fried chicken, and pan fried dumplings all tasted fresh and delicious! If you’re looking for an easygoing restaurant to enjoy a hearty meal, come to Papa’s Dumpling!

I visited this restaurant for the first time, a small neighborhood spot with a large, eye-catching sign that seemed bigger than the restaurant itself. The place operates on a self-service system: you order and pay at the counter, bring your own utensils and water, and wait for your food to be called via a vibrating pager. We ordered vegetable fried rice, which was decent, but I immediately noticed a strong MSG flavor. The noodles with black bean sauce (간짜장) were also a bit salty, with the MSG flavor coming through strongly again. For those who are sensitive to MSG, this could be an issue, so it would be helpful if the restaurant provided a notice about it in advance.

Stumbled across this little gem in the neighborhood. Was looking for Korean dish but come to find Taiwanese food on the menu as well! Interesting combo but definitely satisfied our family’s need, daughter ordered the jajang muyn and I ordered the pork chop rice, came with 3 large pieces. On point for Taiwanese food. Everyone got what they wanted! Will definitely come back to try more!

Ordered take out here and was thoroughly impressed with cleanliness (100 health score), tastiness of food and value for quality of food. I ordered the chicken dumplings, general tso chicken, and shrimp lo mein. The general tso chicken was a 11/10 best tasting I’ve ever had and big chunks of chicken. The dumplings were a 10/10 really flavorful and got them with chili oil. Lo mein was a 9/10. Food quality was really amazing will definitely be back.
