This was my first time at Papas and Beer. The employees were friendly. Their dining area had plenty of tables. There is a salsa bar with a variety of mild and spicy salsas. The food was fast and delicious. I particularly liked the California jalapeño bacon fajitas, it was delicious.

We went on a sunday night like 14 people and we found tables.
Is nice because they have a place when you can grab differents types of salsas.
Also they make the guacamole in front of you.
We ordered beer, margaritas, ice tea, enchiladas, tacos, chicken.

Fajitas style Taco Salad with everything is excellent. It has other vegetables besides peppers and onions. It has yellow and green squash too. Your choice of meats are chicken, steak and shrimp. I opted for regular scrambled hamburger taco meat. My husband had quesadilla and he said it was outstanding. I had to take over half mine home. Personnel are fabulous and oh so friendly.

Had a good experience at the other location from a previous time and wanted to come here for Father’s Day and with our family.
The vibe was very colorful and festive just like the other one. They had a pretty nice outdoor patio but it was too hot for that. We had a really nice server, young handsome guy. He was very attentive and replenished our chips periodically when they ran low.
We stopped by the salsa bar and grabbed a plethora of different kinds. Unfortunately there were a couple that were “bad” or started to ferment. It was not a pleasant way to find out and I didn’t want to point it out to the server because it may just be me. My husband did taste it and agree that it was like that but didn’t want to make a big deal of it so we just ate the chips.
I got carne asada because it was so good last time and hubby got some asada tacos. When my entree came, I noticed the rice looked to be either undercooked or possibly al dente because of the texture, you could see each grain and it wasn’t soft and fluffy looking. When I went to take a spoonful it was actually cooked but could tell it was overly saturated in butter. I have never had Mexican style rice cooked this way and it was a bad representation of it. I understand if they want to be more Americanized or cater to a certain demographic but rice is simple and it tastes best made the authentic way, not with a bunch of butter. It was inedible for me and I just worked around the rest. The steak had a good char and had nice flavor, but was a bit dry.
The tacos my husband ordered seemed a bit messy, and the meat was in large chunks rather than chopped in smaller pieces like how we’ve normally had steak tacos. Just didn’t seem like there was a lot of effort put into the food made that night and we will most likely go back to the other location instead.
Service was good, food and drinks were underwhelming.

Delicious and well cooked perfectly garnished dish! Salsa bar with plenty of selection of good, fresh salsas. Never had this at other locations. Cilantro sals was my favourite one. The service was really nice every time. Portion of food and quality is excellent to compare to price. Great atmosphere & enough space for group dinner and parties. Good prices.

So. Our waiter was great – so friendly! But sadly our food was GROSS. We’ve been to Papa’s And Beer several times so we understand we get what what get. If ykyk!. My hubs salad was good. My marg was good (go my friend) but my food. Ewe. Not trying to be whatever y’all talk about people say I know what I did wrong by going here to begin with. But my lettuce was brown. So I moved it to the side. My guac was brown and I ate a couple bites because I thought… is it or isn’t it good….you know with the lighting. Anyway, what did me in what the sickness in the bathroom. Food was not good. Service was great and drink was great. But currently in the chick fil a drive through because I’m hungry but don”t want to be sick….

Plenty of seating, even for large groups. Food at this location is better than others I’ve visited. Beer is cold. Service is amazing. I gave 4 stars for atmosphere only because it seems too large sometimes for the crowd, which is subjective. Overall, a good experience, and one of my favorites when I want to watch a game in relative peace.

I used to live near the Spartanburg location and absolutely loved it. Since moving to the area in 2023, I’ve visited this one several times and had generally positive experiences until tonight. The first red flag is that there was no hostess and we had to wait quite awhile to be seated. The food was warmish and had some flavor, but I feel like the descriptions are generous because it was mediocre compared to the Spartanburg location.
While getting salsa from the salsa bar, I overheard someone complaining about their cold steak and said their food was warm-ish too. Our server was kind, but she was the only server working with one other server while the “manager” was frantically running around. Considering the restaurant wasn’t overly busy, I’m not sure why the manager was so overwhelmed or why the food was only warm-ish. It’s a shame because it should be packed like other locations.
Consider going somewhere else if you like your food and queso sizzling hot and tea less than $3.49. Another Anderson restaurant to mark off the list and $42 we will never get back.

Our order for 4 people came at 3 separate times. The first people had finished eating before the last order came. The waiter had to be reminded about the food. The last that came was chicken that had a good amount of tough parts. The rest of the food was excellent.
