I was in town for the holidays. Initially I was heading in the opposite direction but couldn’t help but notice the crowd. So I decided to pull in and see what was happening. What a good decision. Friendly service, clean, tvs were not blaring neither was the music. I sat at the bar. The bartender/ waitress was Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food is authentic and tasty. Temperature was perfect.
And the price was just right.
I do recommend and am saddened by the fact there is not other restaurants near my hometown.

Overall great experience dining in here. Definitely a good recommendation for Mexican food in the area! Kids friendly, they serve veg options and also have a kids menu for dinner.. ❤️

No bueno. I ordered the Mexican tacos and got 3 tortillas that were overlapping and all the ingredients ( protein included) thrown on top. I could not distinguish them or even identify it as a taco. It looked like the staff shook it up before giving it to us. Also we did not get salsa with our food. The flavor was good, but I ordered tacos and got a sloppy mess.
Picture attached of me trying to reconstruct the tacos.
We were supposed to get refunded, but so far we are still waiting. Management was very dismissive when bringing up these concerns. After some talk back and forth, he said “expect a refund” and then hung up the phone.
** Update, it has been weeks since eating here and still no refund**

Just had food to go, so I can’t comment on the service. The chimachanga was loaded with chopped juicy steak and the chimachanga was nice a crispy on the outside. It took 3 meals for me to eat it all. I would definitely order it again. The mixed fajita plate was also good. They don’t skimp on portion size here.

Was across the street at Enterprise and noticed Papa’s & Beer. Hands down best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. Would come back if in the area.

We visit Papa’s and Beer very often for dinner. Maybe too often (once a week). They always have fresh chips and a salsa bar to crave for. We clean out the chip bowl every time, very satisfied! Always kept clean, and very friendly service

There’s so much to love at this restaurant I’m not sure where to begin. First and foremost, the service was incredible with us waiting longer for our chips and salsa than we did for our food to arrive. They have a unique concept called a salsa bar which has several different recipes for salsa from spicy to mild with a few eclectic flavors thrown in as well. They have several televisions for all the big sporting events. There’s ample parking to accommodate game day crowds. The flavors are authentic and prices are reasonable for the quality and experience. I highly recommend this establishment!

One of the BEST mexican style restaurants i have ever been to. My family and I first started going here when they opened it seems like at least 15 years ago. Their bean dip is amazing. And they have several tasty options for meals for various food lovers. I definitely recommend checking them out while you are in Asheville!

My son-in-law went to pick up our takeout order last night, (December 8th), and like most restaurants, they use a tablet for the customer to pay and then leave a tip. The screen gives the customer a list of pre-selected tipping percentages and it “automatically” calculates the tip amount based on the total of the bill. The choices were 15%, 20%, 25%, no tip, and “other.”
However, he noticed something odd, because when he calculated the tipping rates manually, the tip percentage for each “automatic” tipping percentage was actually 10% higher than what would have been accurate for the price of the take out order. In other words, the tip shown on the screen for the 15% selection, was actually a 25% tip. The 20% tip amount was actually a 30% tip, and the 25% tip rate was actually a 35% tip. This wasn’t a “rounding up” issue, especially given that each selection was 10% higher than would have been mathematically correct. So anyone using the automatic tip feature thinking they were leaving a 20% tip, were actually leaving a 30% tip. I will be perfectly honest, I’ve NEVER once double checked the math when using the automatic tip calculator when using a checkout tablet, but I certainly will from now on! The resturant probably deserves 3 stars because the food is fine (not great, but decent), but the bait and switch game when tipping means we will never return. Moral of the story … everyone needs to be VERY mindful when using any pre-selected or suggested tipping rates provided by any restaurant or establishment.
