I honestly could not say enough about this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. This was by far my favorite restaurant we ate at during our visit to Georgia. Definitely the best find for BBQ and a variety of choices. The service was friendly and definitely top notch. Don’t miss going here if you are in the area!!!

I stopped in about 20 minutes before closing, and the team still welcomed me in and served with a smile—huge respect for that! The BBQ had fantastic flavor with a nice smoky taste, though it was a bit on the dry side. Luckily, their sauce tied it all together perfectly. The fried okra and fries were spot-on, and the service was excellent from start to finish. I really appreciate a place that takes care of customers right up until closing time.

Sat down and after waiting a while, we had to ask for a server. She was attentive after she got to the table. The food was mediocre at best. Bbq nachos and buffalo shrimp is what we ordered. Totally unimpressed. Chips seem homemade and maybe the grease was old or something because they were not crispy. Bbq was stringy and not much cheese – jalapeños were good. Buffalo shrimp breading was soggy. Reluctantly, we decided to get banana pudding. I mean it’s a Papa’s favorite and how can you mess up banana pudding, right? Well you can, undoubtedly. We aren’t hungry anymore but would not eat here again.

Visited for breakfast, which is a new addition to their menu. They did not disappoint! Immediately seated by hostess. Order promptly taken by waitress Brandi who was cheerful, efficient, and accommodating. Food served in a short time was hot with generous portions and great taste. A bottomless coffee cup was always refilled before requested. Eggs cooked to perfection; a treat to find home fries on the menu in addition to hashbrowns and grits. Full breakfast was under $20, pretty standard with 2025 inflation, with tax and tip pushing the total bill for one to close to $25. A welcome addition to the Islands! Breakfast served 0600-1100. Will most definitely be back.

This is one of our local places. We’ve been here going on 27 years. This is a down to earth, family friendly eatery, if you will. A wide variety of choices; something for everyone. If you just want a salad, there are choices. If you want an appetizer and/soup, they are there. Sandwiches or full dinner plate too. We didn’t get the dessert last night. We were full. I had the vegetable plate with collards, butter beans, fried okra and sweet potato casserole with cornbread. My son had the Thursday night special: with hamburger steak, mashed potato, gravy, white rice and cornbread. They were delicious. Best fried okra, collard greens and butter beans I’ve had in a while. Our server was busy but didn’t forget us. Thankful they are there after all these years. Sorry, we were hungry and forgot to take a picture.

Food was good. Got a salad trio and cheese curds. Service was slow and she did not seem too happy. More annoyed if anything. Place is kinda dirty and dusty. Dead flies laying around in the windows. Could use a good clean in my opinion.

Papa’s saved the day. After another restaurant cancelled our catering order last minute, we were so thankful for the team at Papa’s for making BBQ, Mac & cheese, green beans and sweet tea for our party. Highly recommend for your party or big family lunch.

It’s a bit overpriced, and the food doesn’t ring authentic southern BBQ. We got the nachos and Brunswick stew. The soup was good. Flavorful and filling, the nachos, on the other hand, were overcooked and dry. It was missing something. A little more BBQ sauce or something…
I felt the price point was a bit high, yet I recognize that you’re paying for the experience. I would try it again and give it one more shot, but I wasn’t sold!

The menu is confusing. The food is way over priced for the quality and portions. They charged me 15 bucks for 2 scoops of shrimp salad which said it was served over a bed of lettuce with tomato and celery. There was no bed of lettuce just one peice for garnish. They charged me 5 bucks for a side salad so I could have a bed of lettuce to eat it with. Do not recommend.
