Before I could even step into the bar for the very first time, the owner Scott had his arm around me welcoming me and telling me (in secret so my wife could hear) where to get a free rose inside to give her. The great vibes didn’t stop when we went in, with a life band playing tunes, incredible beer and hot food, and Scott passing out free stickers. For a bar we stumbled into for the first time ever during our trip to this new area first, we couldn’t recommend it more.

What an amazing experience, the food the service, the atmosphere and the love music. My wife and I were traveling to Mckinleyville and found ourselves at Papa Wheelies for Valetines Day Dinner. We had though to grab a quick bite at a convenient eatery off the 101, literally the 1st thing you come to after flying into the local airport. The outside looked eclectic and funky, and the interior matched. Several seating areas inside and out create areas of ambiance for different groups, we say at a huge live edge redwood bar in rhe front room so that we could enjoy the live music. Even on Valentines day, we were seated immediately. The menu seemed sparce, as you look closer and closer you realize thar there are additional options all the way around the room. Even though the V Day prefix, lasagne, salad and flourless cake looked amazing we wanted to try some of the dishes that put Papa wheelies on the map. I had thier basic Eel Rover grass fed Burger, and my wife had the Brie Burfer, voted Humboldt bestBurger. It featured chopped bacon and jalapeno pper jelly.

The vibe in here is fantastic. The service was quick and friendly. But most of all, the food was phenomenal. The kitchen is small but the chef did a fantastic job quickly getting out great food. We had the special bacon jam burger, grilled ham and cheese, tomato soup, and bacon cheese fries. We will absolutely be back!

Craving hot wings so gave this place a try. Hubby had the Bleu wings and I had a bacon cheese burger. We also ordered bacon cheese fries.
My burger was cooked medium rare as requested. It was tasty but tough, a little gristley and not at all juicy. Kinda small size and 21 bucks with bacon added. Way over priced IMO.
My husband liked the wings and said they were pretty good. Price was reasonable.
We LOVED the bacon cheese fries! Eill go back just for those. Price ok.
They don’t have diet coke. Odd.
Too cold to sit outside so we sat at the one big table inside. Chairs were kinda high and just the wrong size for me at 5’7″. I could not get comfortable. Hubby at 6’2″ was just fine.

Absolutely knocked it out of the park! Burger is top tier, the attention to detail is evident! Fries are crispy to the last one. Decor is wild and the play list was awesome. I’m definitely going back soon. You will not have a bad time here!!!

Service was a 10/10, the ladies working here are awesome. They were so accommodating and on top of anything we needed. The burger was one of the best I’ve had! The cheesy garlic fries are great too. Their homemade fries are tastier than other homemade fries I’ve had by far. I can’t believe I’ve been driving by this place for years and never stopped, but I’m so glad I did! I highly recommend checking it out.

Amazing burgers with fun atmosphere. Be sure to check out the etch-a-sketch art! Also highly recommend their basket of fries and the “lobster mushrooms” if they’re in stock. The mushrooms are locally found in the redwoods.

I heard about Papa Wheelies from my daughter, who loves to go there with her dog and a book.
So I had to try it. I had a hamburger and fries with a coke to drink. Sat out on the back patio, and it was fantastic.
That hamburger tasted delicious, and the fries were hand-made cut potatoes with just the right amount of salt.
The sun was out, and it was just a perfect day on the patio.
