This was a great spot to finish our day in San Francisco. The milkshake was amazing even though it was a little smaller than I would like. The burgers are just like OMG they were juicy full flavored, I wish the buns were a little bigger, but don’t we all ;). It’s definitely a must do if you’ve never been and you love a good burger. Also, there’s a Lyft bike rack right out front so you can ride a Lyft bike there.

Went there with a couple of friends for a mid-afternoon meal, and couldn’t be more pleased. The service was lo-key excellent. The food was outstanding. We had: A Louisiana hot link, with fries, a Fish & Chips with fries, a Burger with Fries, and we shared a salad. The fries were perfect: hot, crispy, and had spicy herbs on them. The hot links were spicy, smothered in grilled onions and soecialists sauce. The fish was deep fried with crispy coating, and came with vinegar, as well as tartar sauce. The burger was outstanding, cooked to order, and came with everything.

Notes from my 5yo: They have a real flame grill and it’s cool to watch the fire sometimes. They have good juice for the kids meals (Caprisun). French fries are great. There is fun music playing.

So many delicious burgers to choose from. We got the mac n cheese burger with regular fries. The blue burger with truffle fries. The fire burger with jalapeños and sweet potato fries. Must try.

There’s a first and a last time for everything. They’re the same for me at this place!
On the bright side, it’s a local restaurant. On the other side, the food was poor, the atmosphere was OK at best, and the service was rude. The staff was far more interested in closing early than meeting obligations, with chairs up 20 minutes before posted closing time. My food was ready in 4 minutes and served in a to-go container without being asked. The tables were dirty. The burger was undercooked. The burger was large but mediocre in every other way, including greasy. And the sweet potato tots were nothing like crunchy tater tots. They were more like whipped sweet potato baby food croquettes that were really greasy. I ate two and threw the rest away.

The best burger I’ve eaten, maybe in my whole life. This is the burger that you picture in your mind when you think to yourself “man I wanna sink my teeth into a BURGER”. The sweet potato tots were divine. Every part of the burger and fries was cooked to absolute perfection. 15/10.

I must be in a good mood because this is the fourth perfect review I’ve had to give out in as many weeks. In reality, my experience actually wasn’t perfect but that was mostly my fault. Okay, all my fault.
Let me start by saying that they’re serious when they say half pound patties. Normally, people that start with half pound patties generally burn enough fat out of them to roughly make them 2/3 of their original size. Papa Make is an exception. In fact, when A half pound patty goes in, a half pound patty comes out.
With that in mind, I made the mistake of ordering a double, which meant I ended up with a hamburger that was 1 lb of meat. When I say I made a bunch of mistakes, this was one of them. Ultimately, I simply had too much meat on my burger to enjoy the way it should be enjoyed.
As an authentic burger joint, they weren’t afraid to prepare my burger medium. That can’t be said for every burger place. It came with all the fixings that you would expect, but it did come dry, something I didn’t notice until I’d already taken a bite. Yeah, another food review mistake.
I turned around from the counter to see the items I was looking for, including ketchup, mustard, and mayo. I took the opportunity to start my experience over, this time with all the fixings.
After correcting my mistakes, the hamburger was everything you would want it to be, juicy, tender, and perfectly complimented by fresh garnishes.
I will note, I was a little bit disappointed that the ketchup did come in packets instead of being in some kind of squirtable container. The only other part that slightly disappointed me was the fries. I’m always hypocritical about fries, which you know if you’ve read some of my other reviews. Overall, I still have to give it five stars. It’s in a great location, the food is spectacular, and the drink selections great. Check it out!

Two people, $60 bucks for a couple Costco burgers and a milkshake to share…
Literally anywhere else, there is a taco joint up the street with broken windows that is better than this

Papa Maks Burgers in San Francisco is an absolute gem! The burgers here are mouthwateringly delicious, with perfectly grilled patties and a variety of tasty toppings to choose from. The fries are crispy and addictive, and the service is top-notch. The cozy atmosphere adds to the overall experience. I can’t recommend Papa Maks enough – it’s a must-visit for burger lovers in the city!

Took a drive out to Papa Mak’s burgers to try to cool off with the nice heat that we’ve been having. When I arrived there was a open parking spot right in front of the building as well as other parking spots along the street. I parked and went in and ordered a Papa Burger which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, cheese and bacon are extra. Got a bacon cheeseburger with their garlic truffle aioli fries wow they were good. The fries had a nice crispiness and taste accompanied by the parmesan cheese that was on top of the fries. The burger itself was juicy and good cooked medium unless otherwise specified. It had all the right traits a good burger should have fresh ground beef juicy nice fives too. Good location near Ocean Beach. Nice cool weather tables inside and outside. We chose to sit outside. Such a beautiful day. They have homemade chocolate chip cookies too. You definitely would want to try one as well as a Mitchell ice cream Milkshake. When in the area I definitely will venture out to Papa Mak’s again and have a good burger fries and milkshake. Keep up the great work!
