Papa Lacho’s Bar & Grill looks promising from the outside, and the inside has that familiar Tex-Mex feel—booths, TVs, chips on the table, steady lunch traffic.
My meal came out hot and filling, the classic combo plate setup with rice, beans, and a cheese-covered main. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. It’s the kind of lunch that does the job and moves on.
What took the shine off was being charged for the green salsa. It’s a small thing, but it changes the tone. Best for a quick, nearby Tex-Mex stop when you’re hungry and not looking for a standout meal.

First and foremost, I’ve been in the area for about four years and when this place opened, I really wanted to try it and finally got the courage to try a new restaurant.
I want to take the time to start with the food. It was awesome. Ordered queso with ground beef and was awesome but make sure you get the white queso. I ordered a margarita while my fiancé ordered a beer. Both of our drinks were great and on point. My fiancée got an chimichanga and I got street tacos (birria) . Everything came out so fast that I was really surprised. I love that. And at the end of our meal, we ended it with the free ice cream really tasty
Now here’s why I gave it four stars. It wasn’t because of the food or the atmosphere it was because of the employees . Now no one was ever rude to me or to my fiancé they were all really nice But clearly something was going on that night. The waiter we had she was really nice and knew how to do her job. Something was clearly Going on behind the door where I could tell, she was kind of agitated. Whenever she gave us our food, it looked like she was trying to hurry up and get on her way. Which I’ve worked in a restaurant before for many years I know things can get very hectic and stressful, but you have to leave that behind the door and you can’t bring that to the table. Also, when leaving some of the employees were on their phone at the door In my personal opinion, you shouldn’t be on your phone if you’re working, and if you want to be on your phone, go to the kitchen to be on your phone, not in the view of customers view!
I say the owners and the cooks are really good. Keep up the good work. I really love the food and the atmosphere. Just try to help your employees understand that customers can see what’s going on.

Great food. Legit Mexican while not being intimidating for gringos. Had a combo plate with tamale, flauta and chalupa. All good. Friendly staff and overall good experience. Decent draft be selection. Some local craft, some Mexican, some domestic.

New on campus and this is THE BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had. I was well taken care of by staff and pricing was extremely fair. I was surprised how well the service was because they were busy and I was sitting by myself. Definitely get the queso it comes with the best chips for it and the fried avocado plate with chicken was to DIE for. I’m in love with this place and will be back.

First time at Papa Lacho’s today. Service and our waiter was awesome. The red salsa is delicious and my meal, El Tejano was outstanding in every facet. The menu is expansive; wife had fish tacos with grilled redfish and she was impressed. We will be back 2-3 times a month. Our new favorite restaurant in Huntsville

Yvette was our server. She was very attentive and had a great personality. Chips and hot sauce were brought out immediately. My food order was taken when she brought my margarita. Meal came out quickly and was piping hot. Food was authentic and delicious. Margarita was excellent. Waitress checked on me twice during my meal. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I went here for a dinner date and were very pleased with the food and the service, the only thing that was a little off putting was the noise level, but overall enjoyed the time here. We ordered an appetizer combo platter that had queso, elotes, and guacamole, and even a flight of three kinds of margaritas. When the waiter asked what flavors we wanted for the margaritas, we asked what kinds do they have, and he chuckled and said they are the Baskin Robins of margaritas and have about 31 flavors For the meal, I ordered a plate of tacos al pastor and my wife ordered an enchilada plate. Everything was really good and seasoned very well. I was particularly happy that the pork in my tacos actually had a little spice to it. We will be back again!

Food at this place is a 20/10. Shoutout to the best bartender Iris for her best excellent service and hospitality. Shoutout to Irvin as well. He is goofy and funny. They are the best of the best. This place is definitely family oriented.

This is a Tex Mex restaurant that I have visited after many years (I no longer live in TX). Though it was not served with refried beans, I loved their combo Fajita. Their tortillas were yummy too. The restaurant itself is a bit old and needs renovation, especially in the restroom area. The tortilla chips were very tasty and I loved their green sauce that came with the chips.
