I’m writing this preview to acknowledge Jay for exceptional service hard work. She answers the phone. She takes the order. When you arrive she is the cashier. And then to my surprise she’s also cooking the pizza. While waiting for the pizzas to be finished she is preparing the line with boxes and stickers and all at a very fast rate and all the time making sure that pizza come out correctly. If I was still in the position to do so today I would offer her a job without thinking twice. Regardless of experience I could tell in a few minutes that she could adapt to any situation and be an amazing employee. Thank you Jay.

I ordered a Pizza from the San Marcos Ca Papa John’s Pizza. It was not original crust it was thin Crust. I also ordered extra cheese and didn’t get extra cheese. The toppings were so thin. This was the absolute worse Pizza we’ve ever got. I ordered one last week from the Felicita location in Escondido CA it was perfect and delicious. The San Marcos store needs better management and pizza prep persons. We will never again go back to San Marcos Papa John’s

Rarely do I leave a bad review, I’ll start off with that. I have been a papa johns customer for years and have always been satisfied with their product. About 3 days ago I ordered some Pizzas and upon arrival the doorbell rang and I walked outside to find the delivery man walking away and the pizza on my doorstep, I said thank you as I had prepaid my order and my TIP. I walked the pizza in the house to my surprise it looked like either he threw it at my door or dropped it somewhere along the way. Tried calling the store multiple times as I have no way of knowing if it fell on the floor and no answer. The app tells me to file a report for a pizza that I was craving 3 days ago and have gotten no response there either. Look at these photos… so much for “better ingredients, better pizza”
Went in person and the person on duty made it right… sometimes simply try king turns the experience around.

Of the national chains, Papa John’s has a fairly tasty sauce (the sauce is what makes the pizza, IMHO).
We ordered a large sausage (one topping) pizza, and the bill came to $18.25 before the coupon. Seriously? They seem unaware that all of the other chains are doing a three topping large for $10.
It’s not that much better.
We were disappointed, too, that the box weighed more than the pizza. Really. Sure, we ordered a thin crust, but it was practically lighter than air.
Papa John’s includes a little pack of “Special Seasoning,” which is actually rather tasty, as well as a Peperoncini, but again, not nearly enough to make-up for the price discrepancy.

Amazing pizza! My kids always love going here and their wings are delicious. I’m not sure why the rating is so low? If it’s so delicious and good. The only thing bad is the places around papa John’s because it’s a little cray cray.

Horrible experience today. Must have hired someone new who is changing the climate of this business. Pizza was delivered late and when I called to speak to a manager. He replies well we can make a new one but we need you to bring the cold pizza back. How about no refund my money and take your pizza back. His reply
“I said we’d make a new one dude so what’s the f***ing problem”
The problem
1. It’s an hour late.
2. My family was ready to eat then. Not an additional hour from whenever you decide to make another pizza.
3. You’re completely unprofessional
4. Why would I bring a pizza to you that you delivered? Late!
Customer service makes or breaks any company. I’m not surprised the ratings are declining at this location. Shame.
Supposedly the guy I was speaking to was the manager. I seriously doubt that. That’s not management. That’s not top tier customer service.

Not sure how to rate the Atmosphere since I don’t eat there. I just order takeout. Been buying pizza here for years. Always been pretty good. They introduced a few new items that are nice. Their Oreo bites are pretty good of you like sweet snacks. I also like their chicken wings and chicken poppers. You can see the chicken breast meat in the poppers. Their roasted unsauced wings are great for anyone who really don’t like or want sauce. Their breadsticks are great too. I love the plain ones so I can make my own sauce or dip them in my soups. Their stuffed crust pizza is just yummy! I love the mozzarella rolled in the crust. Yum!
