In looking for NY Style pizza in Evansville, PJ might be the best option. Lombardi’s is the only other option I’ve found, and when they hit, they hit, but they aren’t consistent. PJ is consistent, you will get the same close but not quite right NY style every time. The best of that style that you can get in Evansville consistently.

Last 2 times I’ve ordered app says 45-50 minute wait. Has took 1.5 – 2 hours both times. Food was sub par. They have you sign your receipt when you arrive so you’re pretty much stuck waiting. I remembered tonight why I don’t come to this place.

The staff were yelling at each other when I was picking up. One topping was completely missing from the pizza and another topping was on the whole pizza instead of just half. I’m starting to understand why Papa John’s has such a bad reputation these days.

We used to order from this location and quit doing so a couple of years ago because every pizza we received was undercooked. Recently, we gave it a try again, received our order on time, and it was properly cooked. However, we ordered again on 11/18 and this was the worst experience I have ever had with Papa Johns. Placed an order at 6:28 pm and did not receive our order until after 8:00 pm. I called and talked to the manager at 8:00 pm and he assured me that our order had just left with the driver. Our order arrived 20 minutes later, completely cold, and in grease soaked boxes. When the driver arrived at our house she handed me the order, said thanks and began to walk back to her car. I said, “don’t you want my money?” She said “oh, you paid online.” I said “no, I called my order in and said I would pay with cash.” She said “oh okay”, took my money and left. Bottom line, avoid this very poorly ran Papa Johns. Terrible food and service. Spent $52 for an extra large pizza and an order of cheese sticks. Ended up throwing almost the entire order in the trash.
