Pizza was pretty bad. Ordered a large two topping pizza, barely any cheese and toppings. I felt like I was eating the cardboard box it came in most of the time. After my first slice I quickly remembered why this location is rated 3.5 stars. Next time I’ll go across the street to Marcos and get a better pizza.

Ever since this location started relying on door dash to deliver orders we have had such bad luck. If the food shows up it is great but the last two orders have been horrible. First time we got someone else’s order, 4 huge pineapple pizzas. The second time we ordered at 5:20 and the pizza still hadn’t been picked up by door dash by 6:20. Called the store and there is nothing they can do?? The driver that took our order was coming from Sanford and wasn’t even at the store yet giving us an ETA of 7pm?? The store should be able to intervene if there is an issue with the door dash drivers, or they need to go back to hiring drivers because they are going to lose customers this way.

People who take care of online orders need to learn how to READ! Asked for light BBQ sauce on pizza and they poured a bucket on it instead. Paid for extra onions and got NOTHING! Either they do this on purpose or they can’t read. Last time I will order from this place. You can’t fix stupidity and incompetence in people.

I’m over this place!! … this location anyway. For franchises, I’ve always loved Papa John’s the best, for at least 20 years; then I moved to DeBary and this Orange City location has failed 4 out of 5 times in 2023, with the one time being only mediocre. I’ve had to have 2 of the 4 failures be replaced, after 1st getting home and then having to drive all the way back and go outta my way and endure the frustration only to get a barely tolerable pizza which we still ended up throwing half of it away.
Failures include wrong toppings (including ones we don’t eat or that make us sick and that we obviously didn’t order); undercooked pizzas, overly soggy pizzas; etc.)
The included picture is of our pizza from tonight, one that is overly soggy and undercooked. This after getting to the store for pickup and they couldn’t find it. It’s not like they were even a little bit busy. There were only 4 pizzas sitting to be picked up with employees standing around bored, so 3 of them were looking for my lost pizza. They start making a 2nd one when my original mysteriously shows up. By this time, I’m so frustrated and pissed at myself for ordering from this pie hole place again after the other calamities that I just take the pizza and figured I’d just nuke it at home. (To be clear, the manager did offer to remake it, but other than being 30⁰ hotter, I didn’t figure it would make any difference … and for the quality, I probably wasn’t wrong.)
So this time, after I got home and pulled out soggy slices of uncooked pizza to put on our plates, I opted for cereal and threw mine away. My wife tried to eat one slice, but she could only eat the area closest to the crust of one slice, and then she agreed that the rest of it needed to be thrown away.
All this is coming from a guy who LOVES pizza … almost any pizza. But unfortunately, I can’t help but admit that I’d eat any frozen or gas station pizza before I go back to this Orange City location. I exceeded my limit of multiple chances, and tonight’s pizza, I’ll just chalk up the cost as stupid tax because I’m too frustrated to call them and complain.

I haven’t had Papa John’s in so long. The last time I had it, it was amazing, which was about 5 years ago. They’ve changed something. The cheese and sauce tastes different. The bread sticks were crunchy but still doughy, which was great.

Last night I placed a order for delivery at nearly 1am and left a few notes in the delivery instructions for the driver… Mike, the gentleman who delivered it was so amazing and on point. I would have never expected someone to be so kind and in such good spirits at that time of night regardless my husband and I truly appreciated him and couldn’t stop talking about how amazing he was for such a short interaction. Not to mention, the food was great! They truly hooked us up with some extras of a few seasonings and peppers I ordered. 100/10 for our experience and a special shout out to Mike!! Have been here twice, the first time I ordered 2 large NY style pizza’s. One had the NY style crust, the 2nd pizza did not. Both were supposed to have extra cheese and I wasn’t impressed. Gave them one more try and ordered online, the same 2 pies as the first time. Both pies this time had a thinner crust but still soft, extra cheese was definitely not extra cheese, waste of money. Will use the one on Providence in the future if I get PaPa Johns again. The Providence store was who I tried the first time I tried PaPa again about a month ago since not going to PaPa Johns for about 8-10 years. So tired of paying so much money for junk chain pizza’s that taste like crap. If you go to non chain pizza places they taste a bit better but crazy priced, $25-30 bucks for an extra large cheese with extra cheese and no other toppings, what a rip off.I will say that staff at PaPa Johns is friendly and polite.

Honestly because of our interaction this evening with this Orange City location, we will never order pizza from anywhere else, period. The app “glitched” and complete confusion and a canceled order later… our pizza still showed up! And with a smile from Michael! Like this IS THE GUY I want delivering my pizza! Faith, on the other end of the phone was so pleasant and understanding. The customer service they displayed this evening was truly what makes for a successful business.

Faith is so great! While watching the football game last night, I ordered pizza and accidentally did pickup and not delivery. I called and asked if they could send a driver with my order but because it has been a little bit she insisted they make a new order and would get it out. I told her we wouldn’t mind the cold pizza and she wouldn’t have it. Super customer service. Papa John’s is the only pizza I ever order from and this confirms why.
