I’m not sure why this location has so many bad reviews—my experience here has always been pleasant. The staff is attentive, friendly, and the orders come out fairly quickly. Really nice young people working here, and it’s great to see such good customer service.

We quit going to this Papa Johns over a year ago because the quality was POOR, there were numerous times where toppings were non existent even though we paid for them and if you didn’t order extra cheese you frequently ran the risk of cheese not covering the entire pizza. We’ve been EXTREMELY happy with Hunt Brothers pizza in the Marathon gas station next to the Asheville airport. Since it’s been over a year we thought we’d try Papa Johns again, ordered double cheese to be safe. The family member that picked up the pizza was in a hurry and forgot to check the pizza before leaving. Once opened at home I couldn’t believe it, even if we had NOT ordered double cheese I still would’ve taken it back. Drove 10in back to the store and yes they refunded and weren’t rude, but I certainly didn’t get an apology. The pizza was unedible unless you prefer pizza with no cheese, it was bad, they asked if I wanted the pizza after the refund and I said no, I wouldn’t have drove the 10 min back to the store at 8pm at night if I could have ate it, for almost $15 it was pathetic!
Point is, the 3.3 out of 5 rating is above the 2 stars I gave it, but in the totality of things, obviously this isn’t something ownership and management are that concerned with since it’s been occurring at this Papa John for at least 2 yrs with our experience. Once more competition is built in Mills River this place will HAVE to change, right now they don’t have to and obviously ownership is taking advantage of that. Save yourself the hassle and money and just go to Hunt Brothers, they do NOT cheat you on toppings and you NEVER have to ask for extra cheese as they give you ample regular cheese. Large pizza there is $12.99 no matter one topping or 10 toppings, GREAT TASTE!

Order took almost 40 minutes longer to be ready then the estimated time and then on top of that they messed up every aspect of the order. They have me the wrong pizzas and messed up with sauce quantities. They even messed up the breadsticks!!! I would prefer drive 20 minutes to a further store and eat it cold then order from here again.

Service is Terrible. My pizza was horrible. Most of my pizza had so much cheese it was unbearable. Then like 2-3 pieces had no chesse or pepperoni. I called up there and I was very nice and explained what had happened and he said that he made it and there was nothing wrong with it. He said that we should just eat this really messed up pizza when I paid 20-30 dollars for something good. He was very rude and very disrespectful. The manager is the one that made the pizza and “checked” the pizza. The manager is really young and should not be talking to an elder like that. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed.

Ordered pizza on line asked for no black olives. The app gave me a time food would be ready. Arrived 7 mins early pizza was ready. Greeted with a smile and back out the door. Thanks Papa Johns met and exceeded my expectations.

First…importantly, there is no pricing ANYwhere on the overhead board menu OR on the to go menu. The first time I went, the girl who came to the counter took my order, and my money, (she had a bad attitude so this work thing must be inconvenient for her). When I came back to retrieve it, they mysteriously were now out of stock. She was beyond rude. I thought, ‘just a bad teenage employee’ and foolishly gave them another try. The second time a middle age man came to the counter and he was equally rude. That with the ‘no pricing’ anywhere was just too uncomfortable so I simply left. I looked on Papa Johns website trying figure out what the pricing would have been and guess what? These clowns are not listed on the Papa Johns locations menu. Hmmm?

Call a order in and they told me that it would be 15 to 20 minutes. Went to pick up the pizzas they told me it would be 1 hour wait cancel the order . My husband call and complain the young boy called him yes ma’am. They boy said it was the call center fault and they was timing everybody order wrong. Horrible customer service the Mills River location . Will not order again from there . They definitely do not care about customers or the would have tried to fix the problem instead of blowing us off .

Called for delivery and I accept that the local place doesn’t answer the phones, I’m routed to a call service. Understood. I ordered their 2 large pizza special for $18 plus an order of breadsticks. The total was $42? When I asked how much the breadsticks were she replied ” I already submitted the order so I can’t tell you that”. When I pushed, she said, the breadsticks are $11.99.
Really? $12 for an order of regular breadsticks? The online menu shows $5.99. I politely thanked her for her time and told her that I won’t be completing the order. Sorry Pappa Johns, but you get 1 star.

We placed an order from Papa John’s via the app around 6:00. We received a confirmation email at 6:02 that the order was placed and it would be 57 minutes for delivery. It is currently 7:28 so we called the Papa Johns to check the status. The female manager stated they were JUST being put in the oven. We asked why we weren’t notified and she stated placing an order online can be up to 2 hours even if the email states otherwise. We told her we had kids that were hungry and were needing their dinner. She didn’t even acknowledge. We asked if we could get a discount or a sorry and she said no. HORRIBLE customer service. It’s a shame as we are frequent Papa Johns customers. Would not recommend!

I cannot praise this franchise enough!
Every single time I’ve been inside their store it has been immaculately clean, even this afternoon when it was pouring the rain outside.
Spoke with Rory, a manager, who thanked me for choosing Papa John’s and made sure my order was correct.
Was greeted by several employees when I entered their establishment and immediately felt appreciated as a customer.
The food was everything I’ve come to expect from Papa John’s, fresh, hot and dadgum good!
The pizza alone is enough for me to choose Papa John’s, but the overall store presentation, the cleanliness and the wonderful staff is enough to keep my business from now on!
