I had two orders to pick up. The first one was nearly ready when I arrived. For the second order, I have no clue. Someone mentioned that the pizza was out, and I heard them call out that the next batch of wings would be for my customer. That was after at least a 20 minute wait. Ten minutes later, still no wings.
So 35+ minutes of waiting with no food – and no communication. One of the workers allowed me access to the warming rack to put my first order back. Later, I stepped back toward the rack just to get a peek, and the manager, Brian, went berserk. Ten or so minutes later, I asked for only the third time about the order; this time he accused me of harassment and asked me to leave the establishment, which I did.
This whole situation could have been prevented, had the manager or any of the employees given any eye contact or acknowledgment that there were people waiting; and to provide an update on any of the orders. But that was not the case. Like I said, it was a circus. The manager, whose sole function appeared to be peeling stickers and applying them to cardboard boxes, could benefit from anger management training and from training in basic social skills.
But good things can come from bad. Going forward, we have joined fellow DoorDashers and UberEats drivers in avoiding Papa John’s like the plague. We lost revenue waiting over 30 minutes for nothing.
PostScript: shortly after this incident, I called the store and spoke to the manager for the purpose of getting his name that I might include in this review. Shortly afterwards, he called me back and threatened me with trespassing charges if I ever returned to that location.
Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up.
Called store to report, was told that well done orders were not happening due to being busy. I asked why, and reply was “I just work here”. Customer service stinks and now food is terrible
Do better.
