I ordered delivery and in the instructions I chose the option to leave at my door. An hour later I checked outside and nothing was there. I called the store and the manager said that the driver knocked on my door and called my phone multiple times, but since no one answered, he took the pizza back. I told him that I was in a different room, so I couldn’t hear any knocking, and that I didn’t get any phone calls. Then he told me that there’s something wrong with my phone and that he’ll send the driver out again. I had to wait another 45 mins for my pizza to come.
It’s a 6 min drive from there to my place… That’s almost 2 hours total that I had to wait for a pizza…

I ordered delivery at 5:20pm and finally by 6:50pm we had our luke warm food. We are literally only 2 miles from this store. I used the app to order and for some reason it diverted my order to be delivered by Doordash. Not sure what caused the delay…but my dasher called me at one point to say they had canceled my order. I called the store and they proceeded to tell me my order would be delivered by one of their drivers in 5 min. Never really got an apology for the delays. Just very disappointing as we have been ordering from this location for years. It will be a while before I order from here again.

Edit: spoke to corporate. WIll update in 24/75 hours. For now, rating stays the same. I cannot tarnish the cooking of Papa John. They serve good food. However, I’ve seen in other reviews, it seems they really couldn’t care less about the quality of delivery. And I agreee fully with each negative review. First off, papa johns app is unreliable and at any point in time apparently they can have your food deliver through doordash, making you go through a third party browser and by the time you understand whats going on, its somehow cancelled? And then it reverts back to the app? I had to call to get clarification from the manager that because the doordash driver cancelled he was forced to revert to his in-store driver. Don’t get me wrong, the driver (who got here fashionably late) was super friendly. But I wasn’t even supposed to talk to him- I specifically chose contactless delivery and added the instructions to “NOT ring or knock”. The driver did the opposite but again he was quite friendly. I called the manager and he did seem apologetic, but after reading other reviews I realize this is repeat behavior. Good food but at the risk of having my other tenants yelling at me for ordering food at ungodly hours, I cannot order from here again. Quite a shame. (also i tipped the driver nine bucks and my order was 70 bucks total, so im not complaining over 20 bucks worth of food. for 79 bucks total you would HOPE the driver reads instructions).

Look the pizza has improved at this location… but you gotta cut the pizza.. I think it’s actually getting so bad that all pizza places are going to need a machine that actually cuts the pizza into slices.. because to save money they have a dull pizza cutter.. so to prove it I took a photo of the top and bottom.. yes it was easy to flip over because it’s not cut.. someone get this joint a sharp knife or pizza cutter

Called and asked if they deliver to base. They said “let me check” and then said yes they do. The delivery driver called from the base gate asking us to come get the pizza because they couldn’t get on base. Very disappointing. If you don’t know, actually find out and ask clarifying questions. If we wanted a 30 minute walk for pizza, we would have ordered pickup, not delivery.
