I can’t put my finger on absolutely everything that has contributed to this place becoming less sophisticated than it once was, but I can mention the wide open door during a cold winter night, the crude language of the staff in the back and the overall unwelcoming atmosphere that you’ll occasionally be met with (i.e Walking in and you’ll be waiting for almost a minute for someone to acknowledge your presence even when the place is completely empty). The vibe is like you’re walking into someone’s house and are interrupting everyone inside.
Tonight, I walk into the wide open door and like usual waited for one of the employees who already saw me to feel like asking me why I’m here or acknowledging me by at least saying hello.
Someone comes, and their tone is brusque, loud and confrontational. I think that’s just the way he speaks, but unfortunately the DoorDash delivery guy who walked in a bit later received a tone somehow worse. He came to pick up an order and the tall man with a dark beard behind the counter asks where his delivery bag is to keep the food warm. The delivery guy clearly did not speak English and struggled to understand, but the cashier just refused to give this guy the order and kept barking “Bag, BAG” like it would help him suddenly understand. This confrontation went on for several minutes. A customer sitting behind this altercation mentioned his lack of English but the cashier confidently stated that the delivery guy understood and was just pretending not to understand, then he points to the security cameras above us and says his Doordash account will be blocked because he doesn’t have a bag. Just straight up bullying him. I was so dazed, but now I realize I should have spoken up, even at the risk of making a potential enemy at what was once my usual spot.
Besides this, the man was spinning dough in his hand while doing multiple other things. Checking people out, and going around the room touching this and that. The spinning dough also touched his hairy arms multiple times. It all just felt unhygienic, and made me wonder what they do with the food when one isn’t looking, since this was on bold display.
If you’re reading this, sir, I pray in earnest you don’t take out your emotions on others. Just one moment of frustration for you, can be a traumatic moment for others.
This place’s management is like a hot potato constantly being thrown around and complete staffs being replaced. Now the potato has fallen into the lap of one of the most dissatisfying management & staff as of yet. Not a hint of what made it professional and welcoming.
Pizza party. They were extremely accommodating, ensured we got the best deals and had a perfect reserved spot for us. Really appreciate the staff
35$ and all trust in delivery in this state down the drain
