Papa Joe’s is hands-down the best place in Islamorada to catch a sunset. The venue is incredible — beautiful indoor dining, a turf patio with lawn games, an outdoor bar deck with direct sunset views, and even a dock where you can watch the sun go down over the water. We started with drinks while enjoying the sunset, then moved to our table on the outdoor dining deck for dinner.
Beyond the atmosphere, the food and drinks were outstanding. The calamari was the freshest and most perfectly breaded I’ve ever had. Our server, Amanda, recommended the yellowtail as the fresh catch prepared “Everglades style,” and it was easily the best recommendation I’ve ever received — the most delicious fish preparation I’ve ever had.
I highly recommend this exceptional restaurant if you’re in the Keys.

Beautiful views. Friendly and professional service. Food came out surprisingly fast and was really good.
The grilled mahi-mahi (fish of the day) was pretty meh considering they claim to specialize in seafood.
The seared tuna tasted very fresh. The ribs with guava bbq sauce were very tender and tasty.
The Dubai Chocolate Tart was delicious. Highly recommend.
The parking lot is gravel and a hot mess to maneuver.

Visited Islamaralda from our stay in Marathon and saw this place on the way up. Neat place! Food was great, service good and our seat outside on the deck was perfect. The day was windy and we were concerned about it, but the hostess said it was pretty nice out there. She was right. We were seated against the building and the wind was minimal. I had the spiny lobster BLT and my wife had a smash burger that was awesome (I had 1/4 of hers ). Fries were good ! They have a lower area to play games and a tiki hut bar that extends over the water. Nice lunch!

DELICIOUS fish & chips! Very, very nice thin, amazingly seasoned batter coating and the fish was as fresh as could be!! The lunch plate had 7 or so medium size pieces that were all REALLY tasty (instead of just one or two large pieces of fish like alot of places serve)! Our server was GREAT, extremely attentive (actually made eye contact with us throughout our meal)! I joked with my husband that she was reading my mind ~ she kept our ice tea refilled without even asking. It’s worth noting that there were quite a few customers she was serving. The manager put the shade umbrellas up as soon as we requested them. A real jewel of a dining experience!
PS: my husband and I played half a dozen games of corn hole and had a blast!

Can’t beat the view on 3 sides. Great atmosphere and vibe. Unfortunately our server forgot part of our drink order and we waited 40 minutes for an iced tea.
The yellow fin tuna tartar was kind of slimy but the regular and plant based burger were good.
Overall, a good experience. Lunch time gets pretty busy.

The food is excellent, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The drinks are just as enjoyable—well-crafted and refreshing.

The food was amazing. We specially enjoyed the yuca tostones which we ate with the ceviche as well as their tricolor sweet potato fries. The atmosphere was amazing. The service superb. Heather was super friendly and gracious. It was a very cold and windy day so we couldn’t enjoy the deck bar but will be back.
