This is definitely a hidden gem it was a Saturday morning and we were looking for breakfast there was a breakfast place next to it with people waiting in line. I’m not patient so I tried Papa Joe’s! The food was wonderful the service was fast and the price was right Great job Papa Joe’s!

More of a local eatery, which we liked. The staff was very friendly,, price were pretty good, $22 for dinner. No frills,, none needed, none expected. I got an Italian sub and my wife had the fried chicken sandwich. No complaints from either of us. We will go back if in the area again.

My family and I on vacation (wife, kids 6&10) ate here. Food was quick and awesome. Baked Ziti and Chicken Parmesan were great. Service was quick and friendly. Reasonably priced. I read some of the negative reviews at the table just after ordering. Can’t understand why people dump on the waitstaff: an elderly lady who is working solo as greeter, waitress, bartender, buss, and everything in between. She does it all with a smile on her face. I worked restaurants for 10 years and have absolutely no complaints about this place.

My nephew is very picky when it comes to food. He greatly enjoyed his pizza. Actually, eating all the crust! Everyone in our parties food looked and smelt wonderful. The waitress was great fun! The price was incredible for amount of food we had. Will definitely be tring them for breakfast next visit to the area.

We are from out of town and stopped here with 3 young children for dinner. The waitress walked by us twice when we walked in without any acknowledgement. Once we were finally sat, the same emotionless, unfriendly waitress took our order. While waiting on our food the table next to us left after waiting 10 minutes for drinks. Their waitress came back shortly after with their drinks, and commented to other guests about how it was not her fault it took that long because they didn’t speak english, which was not the case. Once we finally received out food, my husband ordered the lasagna and could not even eat it. My niece had chicken tenders and when I went to break them apart I saw they were uncooked in the middle. There was no manager present in the restaurant, and we never received an apology or even a little sympathy for our terrible experience. I waited tables for a long time, and understand that things happen, but this was a totally appalling experience. We wanted to tell others coming into the restaurant to turn around. We will never come back and doubt they will be in business long with that kind of service and food.

I’ve only eaten here five or six times. It is a lot better than it looks. Tiny paved parking lot forces parking on gravel and grass. Not many people inside usually, but oh, the food! Terrific spaghetti, best catfish I’ve ever had (is catfish pasta or pizza?), wonderful collard greens (that is definitely pasta, right?). I’m starting to think you can’t go wrong. Order extra crispy fries with your sandwich and they will be right out of the fryer.

Usually great service and Joe generally comes out of the kitchen where HE is the cook to check on you. Owners are very nice, and act like they appreciate your business, unlike a certain Foggy place nearby.

Why not five stars? Mostly parking, limited Italian atmosphere and some marginally comfortable chairs, but the excellent food and the super nice people keep us going back. Try ’em.

The only thing good about this place was the service. The waitress was prompt and friendly, but she did touch my dad’s fork which was kinda weird.
Anyway, I had carbonara which literally tasted like noodles in milk, my sister had pasta with clams that was sort of just fishy buttered noodles, the salmon looked (and tasted) like it had been in the freezer for several years with no cover, and the fried shrimp was unseasoned. I truly do not know how you make a house salad and French onion soup bad, but they found a way.
I will not being returning and it was not worth $80 for a family dinner. We literally stopped at the Blowing Rock Market for snackies that’s were far better than this meal and then had leftovers at home.

Overpriced and not very welcoming to “outsiders”. I’m white, my mom is black and it was very obvious they didn’t want to serve her. I forced the waitress to acknowledge my mom first by ignoring her until she addressed my mom. Two other tables came in after us got their food before we did (tried to blame it on the cook for messing up the first order). I wanted to take my money elsewhere but my mom wanted to stay to leave an impression (by intentionally wanting to leave a good tip) and make a point to them. God bless my mom. She ordered a shrimp dinner and only got 7 pieces of shrimp. We could’ve gone to any other place, gotten a plate with twice as much food for half the price. Tea and lemonade were (barely) flavored water. This place doesn’t deserve a star but I had to leave one so I could post this review.
