Social Profile:

Papa Buck’s BBQ started out in 2007 as a mobile food truck in Twin City, Georgia. Later, we started selling BBQ to students at Georgia Southern University. After much success, we decided to open a restaurant in Metter, then one in Vidalia. Now, we continue to cook mouth-watering Smoked “Q” for our customers just like we did on our very first day. Our business has grown, and we’ve added the Pigzilla Challange, but we keep tradition and taste consistent by using the secret family recipes of the one and only Papa Buck.

As far as meets go it’s honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. I’d highly recommend the brisket. But the sides are something I wouldn’t recommend.if you’re getting a to go plate stick to the meats and make your own sides at home or maybe a different restaurant for them.

I have revied many small town bbq houses around the southern United States. You would not expect this hole in the wall place to knock it out of the park. Well! They did. Great food the chopped pork sandwich had the right texture of lean and fat. The sauce was great and the buns mad the difference.

Not an ideal place if you’re black. Service was as ok. The food was bland but the texture of some meats were ok. The customers seemed to have a problem with black people eating inside. No trouble was caused but if you enjoy being mean mugged and stared at while you eat then be my guest. Needless to say, I won’t be returning anytime soon. But I hope the establishment gets better over time.

Papa bucks has some pretty amazing BBQ the location is small but it’s definitely not what you would expect from the outside looking in!!! We had our food in a little under 15 minutes so we had room to conversate before we stuffed our faces!!! I definitely think papa bucks is one of those special little gems we have in Vidalia!!!!

Great BBQ pulled pork plate. The pork was moist and looked appetizing, and even better on the tongue. Their Signature sauce was nice and tangy. The Sweet and Smokey was definitely tasty and I tried both equally. Signature won out in the end .

Driving up to this place, you can tell that it will be a little different. The restaurant is an old gas station. We walked in and were greeted by 2 friendly girls, who seemed to be having a great time working there. After asking them about different menu items and discussing options, we decided on 1st, the original scooby snack with brisket, fully loaded, then a plate of brisket, ribs, fried corn & Brunswick stew, plus some sweet tea to wash everything down. While the Mac and cheese is a personal favorite, we were told that some times its out of this world good and sometimes it was ok, it appeared that it wasn’t an out of this world day, so we passed on that, for now. Let’s start with the tea, it was tasty and refreshing, nothing out of the ordinary or unexpected, but good. Next was the Brunswick stew, it was good, had great flavor and filling. Moving on to the fried corn, this was interesting, something I’ve never had before, I’d highly recommend trying it. The brisket and ribs came next, both were incredible tender and juicy, cooked well. I like a little more spice, but the flavor was still good. Next was the star of the show, what would have been my drunken go-to (if I had been drinking prior to trying it), the Original Scooby snack with brisket – all the way. I really enjoyed it. This is a full order of French fries, covered with cheese, sour cream, brisket, jalapenos, onions, olives & I added aittke sauce to it. This was so good, I will be ordering it each time I go back. This was easily my favorite thing there. Go here, try the scooby snacks, say hi to Sammy!

I normally do not make reviews but i feel as this one was needed, will not be ordering from this place or stepping my foot in again, cashier was rude as if she didn’t want to take my order, ribs were undercooked, food was to expensive for the amount you get, and was also called a racist slur from one of the customers who was picking up an order without the staff batting an eye. Will not be returning.

In Vidalia for the onion festival recently and got tired of waiting in traffic to see the air show so figured we would go eat lunch. On a whim we stumbled upon PaPa Bucks BBQ and what a great surprise!! Service was fast, freindly, the food was excellent and portions were impressive. I had the beef brisket and my wife had the loaded potato. Both did not dissopoint! We are looking forward to going back to Vidalia to visit Papa Bucks BBQ.
