We were in the area for my boyfriend’s doctor appointment and it’s been a while since we had Italian food so we stopped by Paola’s for lunch. It was Monday around 12ish and there was plenty of parking for us as well as amble seating inside. When we arrived, a waitress was the only one working the front area which seemed fine but she seemed very frazzled. The dining room definitely fits the romantic vibes with great lighting, cute partitions giving you more intimate feeling, and they were playing lovely Italian music. The bathroom was lovely and clean when I went to use it.

We ordered the sandwich and soup combo and chicken Florentine. The food took way too long on a non-busy week day. It would have been different if they were full or getting consistent take-out orders. Or an update on when it was arriving would have been nice from our waitress. The corn chowder was really good, cranberry turkey sandwich was decent but the placement of the ingredients made it so that things were falling out with each bite, and my boyfriend enjoyed his chicken Florentine which had a nice light sauce. But I wouldn’t say the food was impressionable or worth that wait.

Some issues that I had was the complimentary bread is offered way too late into the dining experience. It was not offered before ordering nor after ordering. It was offered to us like midway through after we had ordered and it seems that was the case for others as tables that came after us got the same treatment. Furthermore, the bread pieces you get look like pieces that would get thrown out to feed seagulls or crows. Other restaurants would give you more appealing cuts but the presentation and amount of bread just looks like leftover scraps. They do offer a free complimentary dessert for an anniversary but not sure if I want to come back for an anniversary or special occasion and just in general. The final issue was our waitress was just a bit too frazzled and slow on service. Our water got low twice but it was filled once and that was at least 20-30 minutes of it being empty. I also asked for lemon slices and the waitress gives it to me 10-15 minutes afterwards but at least she remembered but they were also already squeezed so it was kind of pointless. And one minor gripe that I have was the music from the initial visit was nice but then there were random pop songs that were Italian dubbed or just did not fit with the rest of the playlist. It almost felt like whiplash when I heard it. I was really looking forward to this place due to reviews but this is the first time that I can’t agree with the ratings or reviews.

I was here for the first time this past weekend for Valentines Day where my now Fiancée proposed!!!! I will remember this place forever because of that. There was a live Harp player, and the waiters were all so kind and came up to congratulate us. I want to give a huge shoutout to the owner(s) as well. I was told typically parties of above 4 aren’t allowed but they recognized my fiancée from when he used to work for an insulation company years ago, and he was in charge of remediating her attic!! Small world! My seafood fettucine was cooked perfect; the bread was fresh and the desserts looked amazing! I was blubbering like a baby all night so did not have the chance to try any. Theressa was our server and she was just a gem the whole night. We are definitely going back for other things on the menu we’ve seen, and I recommend anyone trying to have a nice date night with their loved one to come here!

We have been dining at Paolo’s since it opened years ago. We have never ever been disappointed with the food or the service. Ignore the negative reviews. This is one of the best restaurants in King County !! Highly recommend! Ask for the chicken and champagne sauce, it’s not on the menu but Chef Paul will make it and it’s absolutely exquisite.

Paolo’s Italian Restaurant in Kent, WA, is a hidden gem for anyone craving a delicious, authentic Italian meal. My wife and I dined there recently and were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, we noticed how warm and inviting the atmosphere was. The restaurant is well-maintained, spotless, and has a comfortable, welcoming vibe that makes you want to settle in and enjoy a great meal.

We started with their garlic bread, which was absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with rich, buttery garlic flavor. It was the perfect way to begin our meal. For our entrées, my wife ordered the ravioli with walnut cream sauce, and I had the classic spaghetti with meatballs. Both dishes were outstanding. The ravioli was rich and creamy, with just the right balance of nuttiness from the walnuts, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. My spaghetti with meatballs was everything you’d want from a traditional Italian dish—al dente pasta, a robust tomato sauce with depth of flavor, and tender, well-seasoned meatballs that tasted homemade.

Beyond the food, the service was equally impressive. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about our experience, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive.

If you’re looking for high-quality Italian food in a welcoming setting, Paolo’s is a fantastic choice. The food, service, and atmosphere all come together for a truly enjoyable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommended.

We enjoyed Paolo’s for the first few years after they opened. For a variety of reasons it has been about 10 years and we have been looking forward to dining there again. Tonight was the night, made reservations which surprisingly we didn’t need. The wait staff was obviously inexperienced and in ‘training’. Our dinners both were lacking seasoning, ingredients were not proportioned, and the chicken in each dish was tough and grissly. Paolo was definitely not in the kitchen. We had hoped they had sustained their delicious offerings over the years but unfortunately we were very disappointed.

Have been to Paolo’s a few times over the years. Service has been super nice- a tad slow honestly and chaotic if busy for a small restaurant. Did I enjoy my risotto, yes- did the chicken seem a tad dry – yes. Did I and another person get skipped over for appetizers- yes.

The other people in our party did enjoy their food. I did miss getting the full bulb of warm garlic with the brushetta.
Overall, it is a nice place and it’s nice to see a smaller restaurant keep going and be supported by the community.
Also, thankfully they put sound deadening on the ceilings after the last time we went there. The acoustics were horrific to sit and enjoy a meal or even talk. That’s been fixed and it was nice to talk to everyone.

Amazing everything! The staff was so attentive. Our server was Sav (she was so great)! She suggested the Chianti and I loved it. Very light and paired well with my dinner. My husband ordered a Caesar and I had the Paolo’s Chop salad, it was delicious. The smaller portion was perfect. For our entrees we ordered the crab and scallop pasta. It had plenty of Dungeness crab and scallops. My husband ordered the seafood fettuccine and it came with plenty of seafood. We will return. Great day night!
