We had a great time here! I have been wanting to eat here for a very long time! There is not one on the Big Island! It was good to be able to eat here and it did not disappoint! Very good food and very friendly staff!! We will definitely be back one day! Aloha!

Even though it was raining and seating was outside under tents the food, service and live music was top notch. Our server was only on day 2 of working and she was a pro, would have never known. The live band played a variety of music and was an amazing addition to the already great food and atmosphere. Definitely recommend!!!

From the moment we walked into Paniolo Santa Maria Style BBQ in Kapaʻa, we knew we were in for something special! This family-run Santa Maria BBQ joint brings incredible flavor and island hospitality together in the most welcoming way possible. The smoked tri-tip was juicy and perfectly seasoned, the BBQ plates were hearty and delicious, and every bite felt like authentic aloha. 
But what really sets this place apart is the live music and laid-back atmosphere — every visit feels like a mini celebration. On weekends (and open mic nights), local musicians fill the patio with country, blues, and island rhythms that make you want to relax with friends, tap your feet, or even dance under the stars. The energy is fun without being loud, and the music truly elevates the whole experience. 
The staff treats you like family, the vibe is casual and happy, and being able to BYOB adds that extra personal touch to your evening. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was incredible. We had Joana as a server & she was sweet as sugar truly made our experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back soon for those great ribs and the live music. Highly recommend!

Best Mai Tai on kauai! Best bbq food as well! I had the one and tri-tip combo. The surf and turf was 30$. Thats a steal! Wifey had chicken nachos. The nachos had tons of the good stuff. The ono held up to it’s namesake and the trip could be cut with a fork. All the food and a perfect smokey flavor that stayed with me in all the right ways. 100% I’m going back. Also, the ukelele lady, ruby flambe, is a talent the world needs.

Food was good, meals came out at different times and people who were there after us got served first. The music was great but way too loud for everyone in our party. It’s worth it if you want BBQ and live music. But I would sit inside away from the band.

Really fun laid back place to drink and dance and have fun in a non-touristy environment. And it’s BYOB with an ABC liquor store next door! The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Food was meh. Surf and turf consisted of some TRI tip that was pretty good but the ono was lukewarm and dried out to a consistency of a wooden shingle. Place is pretty busy so after a few minutes I was able to flag someone down who went and got us a hot thick filet of Ono that was much better. Rice was an inedible clump of dried out something.
Next time I think I’d stick to the sandwiches or burgers, bring a six pack or a bottle of wine and enjoy the band and the fun
