This was hands down the worst Panera Bread experience I’ve ever had, and honestly one of the worst food service experiences overall.

I ordered chicken noodle soup with a fruit cup. As soon as my name was called and I picked up my order from the counter, I noticed a hair inside the fruit cup. I immediately went back and politely asked the employee to replace it. He did change it, but there was no apology.

Then I sat down and started eating my chicken noodle soup, and to my absolute disgust, I found another hair inside the soup.

At that point, I went back to the counter again and showed them the soup. Another employee came over (not sure if she was a manager or not), and there was still no apology, no concern, no accountability—just a careless attitude like this was normal.

Finding hair in TWO different items from the same order is unacceptable. This shows a serious lack of hygiene, cleanliness, and quality control. What made it even worse was the complete absence of customer care. Not a single person said “sorry” or tried to make things right in a respectful way.

This location seriously needs:
• Better food safety and hygiene
• Proper hair restraints
• Staff training on customer service
• Managers who actually care when something goes wrong

I will never return to this Panera Bread, and I strongly warn others to think twice before eating here. This is easily the worst Panera in Sacramento.

The wait time on average is 40 to 60 minutes for a single order in the mornings. I’ve been “forgotten” several times during rush hour so I’ve waited for close to an hour. I understand they’re busy however I do believe they could be more organised. However, during lunch time they tend to be less busy and move things quick. I would not recommend coming here in the morning, but it’s a great place for lunch and studying. There is a great atmosphere and plenty of charging stations.

The food is extremely overpriced. They charge $20 for half a sandwich and a small bowl of soup. It tastes very good, but I can’t return to this place unless prices change. I would be a regular customer if the price was reasonable like $12. The layout of the restaurant is also confusing when you order dine-in. There is no signage at the area where you pick up the food, so unless you’re already a frequent customer, you’re not immediately sure where to go.

I’m part of the Sip Club which is an awesome service Panera offers in general. Unfortunately at this location no matter how many times I have come in, which is at least 3-4 times a week just to use my Sip Club membership, my cup is never ready in the take out area. Ever. I believe only ONE time it was there ready for me. I have given grace thinking it was just a fluke but it is a constant occurrence. I’m not exaggerating when this is being said either, but I have waited up to 15 minutes just to try to the get the attention of a team member just to ask for a cup. I have gone to the area where you would pick up your meal to ask for a cup where you are typically not acknowledged because they are either focused on preparing what they are doing, or, they are hiding behind the counter in an area where you can’t see them but can hear them. It’s really frustrating to order in advance and not have it be readily available when I arrive. I only ever enter the store after I’ve received a notification stating it’s ready yet it never is. I’ve fortunately never have had a rude team member encounter, but it just seems like it’s a lack of staff issue along with other priorities being set higher than the take out orders. It could easily be a miscommunication issue as well but again it’s just very frustrating to not have it ready when I am doing my part in placing an order in advance to be sure it’s ready once I arrive. Especially over the fact it’s just for a cup.

The lady manager should probably spend more time cleaning her dining area instead of standing on the customer side of the pick up area unnecessarily handling customer’s food. She just stands in the way and touches the food. Super sketch and gross.

I don’t normally leave a review but, When I came in I was having one of those days that one more bad thing happens and you just break down. My bag had ripped and I lost my bread that was in my bag. They gave me new bread and was trying to help calm me down from crying. They were absolutely amazing and super helpful. Thank you to the team that was working today.

So in this specific location, the service is extremely slow, even though there weren’t many people in the restaurant. It still took a long time to prepare my order. The most disappointing part was that I ordered a hot caramel latte but was given an extremely cold drink. When I complained, they replaced it, but again with another very cold drink that was not supposed to be cold.

I specifically came to this location to get a hot coffee, and when I told them the replacement was still cold, the only response I got was that they would stop taking orders for hot drinks. I wasn’t offered any alternative or compensation, which meant I essentially paid seven dollars for a latte I couldn’t drink and had to throw away. Very disappointing experience.

I love Panera in general, but this has to be my favorite location. It’s clean, the service is fast, and the staff are friendly. If you go there, April is the BEST! She is super knowledgeable of the products and whenever she’s working I know my food will be prepared with care. 5 star service

I was finalizing a deal with an other retailer in the same complex as Panera Bread, and had planned on eating at the place that serves up Animal Style burgers…But, ..The aromas coming from the soup as a woman walked past me were overwhelming, I had to go in and capture the flavors that ever so captivated me. The soup was Amazing! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
