This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with their portion sizes at this location. I actually stopped ordering from here years ago because of this problem and decided to give them another chance. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. The soup tasted sour, overly salty, and extremely watery. There was almost no pasta and hardly any chicken.
For $10, this is unacceptable. I paid for chicken noodle soup, not flavored broth. Very disappointing experience.
I recommend you not go to that location.
I used to work at another Panera location in Texas, so I understand how frustrating it can be when people come around closing time, especially for students working late shifts.
Around 8:00 PM, I placed an order scheduled for pickup at 8:55 PM because I was finishing a workout nearby. Right after that, I placed a second order for a cookie since I realized I had a reward for a free cookie. I intentionally scheduled the pickup before closing so it would be convenient for the staff and so I could just quickly grab my order and go.
As I was finishing my workout, I realized I might arrive right at closing time, so I called the store ahead of time to make sure it was still okay for me to come through the drive-thru. I was told it was totally fine.
When I got to the window, I received my food bag and asked if the cookie was inside since the orders were placed separately. The employee told me there was no cookie and that it might not have shown up because it was placed late. I opened my app and showed her that both orders were actually placed back-to-back earlier in the evening.
At that point she closed the drive-thru window and audibly screamed loudly before saying something to her coworkers, which made me feel uncomfortable. When she came back with the cookie, I apologized for the inconvenience and told her to have a good night, but she didn’t respond and rolled her eyes.
I completely understand that closing time can be stressful. However, I did try to plan ahead by placing the orders early and scheduling them for pickup before closing so that everything would already be prepared and easy to hand over at the window. Since the cookie was already packaged and just needed to be grabbed from the shelf, the interaction felt a bit discouraging and honestly left me feeling a little disrespected.
Again, I usually enjoy coming to this location and have had many good experiences here, so I hope this was just an off day.
