It’s the equivalent of any fast food restaurant… the place was very clean and there were plenty of supplies( straws, napkins, etc.) They got our name wrong, so they called our order and we thought it was someone else’s. The French onion soup was mediocre, at best ( compare to Applebee’s)… the grilled cheese was pretty good, but they had all cooled off. A little music would REALLY add to the atmosphere, which was very nice, with lots of seating options. Also, enjoy drink refills at your leisure. Great alternative to burger fast food!

This is definitely below the average Panera Bread (PB), lol. It’s NOLA. What would you expect? USNEWS just ranked Louisiana as the 50th best state in all of the USA. We are at the bottom for the last decade, easy. So…
The chairs are messed up. The leather covering on several chairs are torn up. It’s a bit moist inside. The food though? Pretty decent. It’s nearly on par with other Panera Breads. We ordered the Mexican bean soup, solid 4 star. The strawberry salad is 3.5 out of 5. Great ingredients but a little too sweet. Chicken salad sandwich? 4 star. I actually prefer the Arby’s version, ha.
Overall, it’s a 3 star PB. But for NOLA, 3.5 star. Side Note: I owned a franchise down the street for a few years, and I stunk. Again, past tense. It’s hard to run anything in NOLA so this place is truly a 3 star but I’ll be lenient and round up to a 4 star.

I love the environment, it’s so quite and cozy most of the time. The food is always good, I personally love their tuna sandwiches and broccoli and cheddar soup. The servers are kind and they will answer any questions you may have, especially about potential allergies or alterations.

Ordered online for pick up. They were out of pumpkin seeds for the autumn soup. Ok. They were out of feta for the salad, ok did substitute. They charged .69 for the substitution, which I don’t think they should have since the salad had no cheese due to being out of. Ok. Get home and no napkin, no spoon or knife, only a fork. Definitely need quality control.

I ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese it was good. The presentation was very messy and the outside of the bowl was filled with soup spillover. Other than that it was good. I got the passion fruit green drink and it did taste slightly off. The environment was very quiet great place to work or study from 10:30-1ish then it starts to pickup. Overall not a bad experience.

I ordered a broccoli cheddar bread bowl for takeout, and the experience was really disappointing. The soup cup was barely a little over half full, and the bread tasted sour to the point where I couldn’t even eat it. This was my first time trying this Panera Bread location and unfortunately I won’t be back.

Jan 18, 2026- There is no excuse for having the air conditioning on while people are dining when it’s 38° outside at the veterans location in Metairie, Louisiana.
The manager claimed she couldn’t adjust the temperature, which meant we were stuck freezing. People were literally eating with their coats on!
We couldn’t take it anymore and had to pack our food to go after only five minutes. This is unacceptable. Every time I visit this location, there is a problem. They clearly prioritize the staff’s comfort over the customers’; the manager even admitted it’s warm in the back for them while we’re left in the cold. It was cold and the food was terrible this time-It’s like a hit or miss ♀️ ♀️ ♀️
Almost forgot to include this, we literally had to yell HELLO for someone to wait on us!!!!!
I hope corporate sees this review and I hope their sales reflect this poor service and this location shuts down real soon, because they have no regard for the customers experience!

This is the dirtiest Panera that I have ever been to. While standing and waiting for my food one of the workers asked another if the wrapping for her sandwich was good and another said as long as it’s in the wrapper it’ll be fine. I feel like QC is a far far thing for this crew. The booths are all torn up and falling apart and the staff is too worried about being on their phones than cleaning the dining area littered with trash.

1-26-22: Disappointed. Bought a Chicken Salad sandwich for a coworker and it barely had any chicken but lots of salad /lettuce. Forgot to mention it had no flavor. Embarrassing!
