Crystal was super nice thank you! I love Panera and this Des Plaines location is super nice and clean and the decor is calming. And the bagels are better than most Chicago dense and non chewy bagels. I love all the food where you can have desserts as well as healthy salads and soups and sandwiches. And the seats are so comfortable. Plus they have 2 recycling stations. Free bathrooms. Free parking and Nextdoor to Bibibop which is Korean food Chipotle style where you pick your base and toppings.

I am writing to document a serious safety and hygiene issue at this location that remained unresolved for 49 days.
Nearly two months ago, I reported a loose toilet seat in the handicapped stall. My husband, a professional carpenter and tile installer, even explained the simple fix to the manager. I was assured it would be repaired that day. 49 days later, I returned from my volunteer shift at O’Hare to find the seat was still not secured; when I sat down, it slid halfway off the toilet.
The manager’s “solution” was to remove the seat with his bare hands and walk it through the restaurant and behind the food counter without it being covered—a major hygiene violation.
The safety negligence is even worse: They put a sign on the door of the handicapped stall, but they did not secure the door shut, nor did they put any tape over the toilet bowl to indicate the seat was missing. Since the toilet and the seat are both white, it created a dangerous “white-on-white” camouflage effect. A patron could easily sit down without realizing the seat is gone and fall into the porcelain bowl.
I have spent over 4 hours of my own time trying to help this company fix a safety hazard. After waiting 9 days for a response to my corporate “escalation,” I called to inquire about the status of the incident and a day later received a generic email stating the issue was “resolved” with no acknowledgment of my time.
It shouldn’t take a patron falling and getting injured for this to be taken seriously. Management needs to be held accountable for this total lack of safety and professional protocol. I am waiting for a formal response and a resolution that acknowledges the significant amount of time I have spent addressing your safety and hygiene failures. I look forward to your prompt reply.

I was really craving a delicious soup today. I didn’t even know there was a Panera right here. It was so nice to walk in. Excellent customer service a beautifully clean restaurant. And absolutely delicious food. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken, avocado BLT with some chicken and rice soup felt like being wrapped in a hug, perfect little spot to wind down or relax

Review of Panera Bread

Panera Bread is a great place for a quick and healthy meal. Their menu offers a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, and bakery items. I really like their fresh ingredients and the cozy atmosphere. The food tastes good, and the portion sizes are satisfying.

I stopped going to this location because they were always a hit or miss with their service. Very inconsistent or out of ingredients with very long wait times for driver through rapid pickup. Decided to try them again today and was utterly disappointed. Not only did I have to wait 10-15 min for the rapid drive through order but the $6.85 sandwich I ordered was a joke. Quality totally poor.

Food was mediocre, coffee tasted watered down restroom was disgusting( photos attached), if you’re desperate fine, if not give it a wide berth. Staff don’t care, all looked exceedingly miserable as if couldn’t give a dam definitely a case for a secret shopper or undercover boss visit.

Stopped in for salads and sandwiches. The food was fresh and delicious like you would expect at Panera. Not sure why but the restaurant seemed a little dirty during our visit. Maybe just bad timing or a staff issue. The food service was great and the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful.

I came in and ordered a customized sandwich. all of my additions and changes, which I paid for, were no where to be found.
I even confirmed with the team when I grabbed my sandwich, and they said it was good.

I was in the middle of my flight when I opened it up and found that was not the case at all.

It wasn’t even busy at the shop. No excuse for this type service

The food was good. Not great, but good. We ordered from the kiosk, so there are no service issues here. THE RESTAURANT WAS FILTHY. Team members were observed sitting in the unkempt dining area as well as the manager as we exited. He looked right at me as I was filming all the dirty dishes around the trash can.

If the restaurant was clean I would have hands down given Panera a 5 rating. SORRY!
