The cashier who took my order was absolutely rude. The whole dining area was dirty. All tables and chairs were covered with crumbs. I asked the buss girl if I could clean the tables because they were all dirty. And instead of apologizing for the dirty tables and offering to make it better and clean them for us. She handed me a cleaning wipe. I have never experienced this behavior at an establishment before. I’m astounded.

What is the meaning of rapid pickup? The woman at the counter was so unprofessional. I placed an order that showed “Ready for Rapid Pickup” at 7:55, but it was not ready. She made me wait until 8:15 and then said they would start preparing my order. Very unprofessional

I always love Panera. The Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt is my absolute favorite. It’s a delicious mix of zesty sweet peppers and the neutral flavor of the avocado mixed with the cheese, chicken, and the soft focaccia bread. It’s the best sandwich in my opinion! The staff was very nice. The facilities were clean and the atmosphere is always nice.

I would give less than 1 star if I could. I am stuck at home with the flu so I ordered Panera via DoorDash. I was given the wrong order so I called the store to let them know. They said my food was still in the store, so it should arrive shortly. I called an hour later (still with no food) and they are now saying there is nothing they can do. I would not recommend this store to anyone, especially if you are sick. Complete waste of time.
P.S. I have never left a review before but that is how bad my experience has been.

This Panera Bread has been an established part of Davenport for decades. I remember when it came to this space in the early 90s as the St. Louis Bread Company, then quickly changed to Panera Bread and stayed that way. I’m pretty introverted, and Panera Bread has helped provide a space over the years to sit, sip on a hot tea, and snack on a pastry or sandwich while reading a book or studying. It truly is one of my favorite chain restaurants.
This last particular visit to the Davenport location was motivated out of a similar need – I’d just had dinner, yet needed to relax with a tea and pastry while reading work emails for a bit before returning home. The space is very much the same as it has been for years – warm brick red, beige, and golden yellow walls, simple chairs and booths throughout the dining room, two comfy chairs in one corner, and a big counter with breads and pastries centered on one side of the space. There’s some accent lighting along the periphery that helps to brighten the space without adding any harsh lighting, which is also fantastic.
I got a hot green tea and an M&M cookie. The associate helped me quickly and I was soon on my way to the corner with the two comfy chairs to relax. Soon enough, I had my emails read and some texts answered, and even sooner I’d finished the tea and cookie. All was pretty much as remembered. In fact, the chairs might be original to the space. No complaints there – they were definitely still plush and appeared sufficiently clean.
I’ll have to come back on the weekend for some black bean soup and a baguette slice as I’d always enjoyed. Thanks Panera, you’re still one of my favorites!

I ordered food delivered and they shorted me a whole bread bowl. Whoever answered the phone admitted they forgot to put 2 in the bag. I’m home sick. That’s the reason I had food delivered. Panera would not send my missing food. Do NOT order the Mac and cheese bread bowl. They give you a tiny container of Mac and cheese. So it’s basically all bread. Don’t order delivery! If they mess up they don’t fix it.

Rude and unprofessional management — very disappointing experience.
I came in today as a DoorDash driver and was shocked by how the manager in the red shirt treated people. A customer accidentally spilled something and asked for a rag — instead of helping, the manager snapped at a new employee, saying “NOPE, you do it,” in a rude, dismissive way.
When I went to pick up an order, the same manager said they were refusing to make it because they were working on a large $100+ order first. When I calmly asked how long it might take, she threw up her hands and said she didn’t know. When I said I’d unassign it, she replied, “Do what you have to do,” and threw her hands up again.
Everyone can have a bad day, but this kind of behavior was uncalled for and made the whole store feel tense and unpleasant. Definitely not the kind of attitude you expect from a manager representing Panera Bread.

If you order for rapid delivery, expect it to take 30 minutes, not 10. When you ask them about it, expect them to go to the register and ignore you. Ugh. So irritating.

Food is reliably good but prices are a bit high for what you get. Issue here is always a lack of people working the counter to take orders. Everytime we come here there’s just 1 person at the register and a line of people waiting to place orders. Would be nice if they more reliably staffed the other registers and move customers through more quickly.

I always check my orders because they gave me the wrong salad about a month ago and it took me a rwenty minute round trip to go back and get what I wanted. Today when I opened my salad, there were two rotten strawberries on top and some of the lettuce is rotten. I think their food is pretty good but certainly not always exceptional.
