Extremely disappointed with the service today. I watched my driver sit in the same spot for 20 minutes on the map while my food sat on the counter getting cold. By the time it actually arrived, the fries were soggy and the burger was lukewarm. What’s the point of “priority” delivery if it takes over an hour for a 10-minute drive?

An extra star just because it’s one of the only “fast food” in central downtown, but not deserved. Closed on weekends, can’t manage a lunch rush- I placed an order and it says it won’t be completed for another hour. $15 for a meal with no drink and no tip. Panera has become a crap chute for every working professional in town. Should just stop with DoorDash since that’s prioritized over actual orders. Feel sorry for the workers and the bull they have to endure on everybody’s behalf.

I love Panera. I was sad to see a lack of urgency in completing customer orders. This location is attached by the SkyWalk that attracts many people who are attending conferences at the JW Marriott, Devos, and Amway Grand. Most people have an hour lunch. I waited for over an hour for my order. Literally – waited in the store. Other customers were confused as to what the advantage was to ordering online, as they too, had long wait times. The second day, I arrived at 10:45, thinking I would be ahead of the rush. There were about 4 customers waiting for food and nobody in the ordering line. I couldn’t believe how long I had to wait to get my food again! It was 11:45! One employee kept talking to her colleagues mentioning that she would put a stack of applications on the counter if anyone was upset with the wait time. (She was short with short blue hair and glasses.) Another employee was walking around as if she had all the time in the world to make food. I attend conferences here 2-4 times per year. I will never return to this Panera. I would rather eat at Z’s, who has friendly service, quick turn arounds no matter how busy they are, and amazing food.

Easily the worst Panera in greater GR.
– Security staff hanging out by the door at all hours totally kills the atmosphere. The homeless like to congregate on the Campau Promenade and likely come in and cause trouble, but regardless it’s just not a great look.
-Apathetic staff. Little communication and every thing takes twice as long as any other Panera.
– Portion sizes are a total joke from where they were a decade ago. Croissant sandwiches fit in the palm of your hand.
– The switch to thaw and serve/par-baked breads and bagels has completed the arc of Panera to Hospital Food status. Not the fault of the staff by any means.
+The restaurant is generally very clean and not busy, and it’s a good spot to hang out and get some work done.

I don’t usually go out of my way to leave negative reviews but this Panera location earned one. I was staying downtown for a conference and ordered breakfast for my son and I the night before, for pickup at 8am. Showed up at 8, my order was buried deep in the queue, people waiting all around. Order finally came up at 8:45, after my son had to leave for his rehearsal. Part of the blame of this is on Panera’s apparently-broken order queuing (if an order is accepted for 8am the system should ensure that order gets slotted between in-store orders placed before 8am) but a big chunk of it is on store management not properly scheduling staffing for large conventions/conferences happening along the Skywalk. This wasn’t just a peak-hours problem, either – I placed a second order the same afternoon, sandwiches to have for breakfast the following morning (I learned my lesson) order placed at 6:00pm for pickup at 7:30pm. Show up at 7:30, barely any customers around, but the order was put on the counter at 7:45. Two star credit for good sandwiches on a zero-star service experience.

This is a really big Panera nestled between two buildings in downtown Grand Rapids. There’s no parking so you have to walk to get there. It’s my first time at a Panera. We ordered Broccoli Cheddar soup in a bowl and in a bread bowl with chips and a baguette. The baguette was hard but the soup was amazing. It’s a beautiful location.

Not the most convenient location and the guy waiting on me was rushed to get get me to order since I couldn’t remember my rewards number. He just had to wait until I figured it out. Too bad. No validation for parking so I won’t go out of my way to park here and pay for it just to give them more business. The hot chocolate was watered down. The pecan roll was cold and they didn’t bother to ask if I wanted it heated. Overall, an unfriendly ND worthless Panera Bread.

Come on now y’all…..I have y’all a second chance to redeem y’all selves.

The BLT I ordered a few weeks back, had two half strips of bacon. I was eating a bread and tomatoes sandwich.

Today I come for a grilled cheese with absolutely NO crisp to the bread at all. I’m just eating goo.

Y’all a sandwich company….. Imma ask y’all to do better frfr cuz I rarely eat out and when I do, this type of disappointment reminds me why I don’t waste my money and it also upsets me because I only eat out when I’m extremely hungry!!

I used to love Panera but the portions and quality is definitely NOT worth the price anymore. I ordered a cup of macaroni and thats literally what I got plus a drink for $13.00. A box of bacon mac and cheese would have been a better choice. Which I’m sure what I ordered was straight out of a bag and microwaved. I can’t justify paying $13 for this. Homemade from scratch that a chef took time to prepare maybe, but not this…they have lost a customer. No coming back from this and no loss to me!!!!

Highly suggest ordering online – makes checking out easy and quick plus the extra customization of freebies.

Only draw back is that sometimes the lunch rush can can overwhelm the kitchen.
