I’ve had occasion to visit this Panera twice in the last 2 weeks. The first time, I order 2 different salads takeout..when I got home (25 minutes away), one salad was correct, the 2nd was a totally different salad than i had ordered. I called. The shift manager was apologetic and told me he would replace not just the wrong salad but both salads if I would come in again. He said “they write it down in the back” and to simply tell them that info when I returned. (AS a note, I did not get my receipt the 1st time)
Yesterday 2/7, I returned to Panera around 4:45pm. I spoke to the shift manager and he found the note to order my salads at no charge. Just as a note, I did order more than just the replacement items at no charge. This time I got my receipt but honestly did not check it. When the person in food prep was about to bag my order, I asked her if she could double check my order since last time it was wrong when I got home, she said sure. I told her specifically what i ordered and she checked the items (i did not personally look at the salads…). IT turns out she didnt really look closely because the chicken should have been clearly visible. You can imagine my frustration when I got home and once again BOTH salad items were wrong! Both salads were supposed to have chicken and neither salad did!!) This time I called and I was more than frustrated! THe shift manager apologized but did not offer any solutions . He said it had been quite a day. I told him he had process issues.
Later I checked my recipt..one salald showed the chicken , the other didnt? Maybe it is always supposed to have chicken ?? Or did the manager enter it wrong?? Are there any quality controls on takeout orders? Do they have secret shoppers who check the correctness? Are they supposed to read your order back at the register to make sure it is entered correctly? Did the 1st manager in leaving a note mention what the issue was so the 2nd manager could have reviewed the order personally to make sure i got the right items? When I called back why didnt the 2nd manager take ownership to get to the root of the problem?
ok I’m done venting…if, big IF I go back I will personally make sure my order is right both at the register and at pick up!
by the way..I was asked if I had a rewards number but not encouraged to join..this store has issues…
OK so here’s what I’m wondering?
Do they have quality controls on out
you know what while I’m at it the place is absolutely filthy. I’m not sure if they’re understaffed or if they are overstaffed with people who don’t know how to manage.
i’m just extremely frustrated that they ruined my night.
I’ve visited many Panera locations across the country and always had good experiences, but here the standards are far below what a well-known chain should represent. This location desperately needs more attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and proper maintenance. Boone deserves a Panera that is clean and well-managed — not like this.
I had such a great experience at Panera Bread thanks to their amazing customer service. I had placed a to-go order and didn’t realize until I made it all the way back to my cabin (quite a drive away!) that my sandwich was missing. I called the store, and Ari, the store manager, was incredibly kind and understanding. Hours later, when I was finally able to return—right as the store was closing. Krist, who was the customer service representative that night, made me a fresh sandwich without any hesitation.
It’s rare to find that level of care and attention, especially at closing time, but Ari and Krist really went above and beyond to make things right. The food was fresh and delicious as always, but what really stood out was how much they valued me as a customer. I’ll definitely be returning whenever I’m in the area
