Attended my second Panera grand opening, this time at the new location in Virginia Beach. Once again, my experience was fun chit-chatting in line with everyone else who camped out front early before the opening. Got to take some pictures and spin the prize wheel; I won a hot and cold 2-in-1 tumbler, so I was happy about that.
My excitement dwindled; however, once I got home and realized that my order was completely wrong. I placed an order for a sliced and toasted asiago bagel with cream cheese, a three pack of crème brûlée bites, and a hot tea. I placed my order while we were all still waiting in line for the opening to start at 6 AM, so I placed my order around 5:40 am for a 6:10 am pick up.
Instead of getting my actual order, I received a plain toasted bagel with no cream cheese and a bacon and egg soufflé… no crème brûlée bites… I usually never have any issues with my order being incorrect at Panera, so I really didn’t think I needed to check my bag before leaving out plus I needed to go ahead and get home, so that’s why I didn’t check before leaving.
Not the best start to their opening, but I’ll be back again to see if maybe the mistakes possibly were from the staff being overwhelmed on their opening day.

I went through the drive thru this morning at a new location in Virginia Beach by Princess Anne Rd. I ordered a crème brûlée latte and the cup was half full and the drink was barely warm. It also tasted barely like coffee more so like flavored water. I’m not sure if the woman who made the drink knew what she was doing because I was waiting for the drink for almost 5 minutes (luckily I was the only one in line at this time). I’m not pleased with spending over $5 for a drink that is not made properly and doesn’t fill the cup. The woman was very nice and did offer me a free cookie for my wait but of course that’s not why I was there and was expecting to enjoy my coffee at work this morning and definitely not able to do that and out of $5 as well. The economy is bad enough for us and when we go out to splurge on something, we as consumers expect our order to be right and tasteful.

First totally love the fresh bean brew machines. Love the fresh crema on my very hot coffee at each cup or half cup! The hot water for tea is Always hot!!! No need to keep asking for more coffee, hot coffee, waiting for hot water, bothering staff who clearly act like its annoying at other locations. *food ordered has been delish

The other: frequently dirty tables, off duty employees come in and go behind the counter at the bagels/baked goods, wandering around the kitchen area, not in uniform, hair flying, & very UnSanitary, its gross.

Some staff are very nice, some rude.
Some customers clearly don’t know how to act in a restaurant of any type, very loud and disturbing.

I love this Panera! I was having trouble ordering through the app and didn’t realize you could add drinks to kids’ meals. Jaden—who I believe is the manager—was incredibly helpful and took care of everything. Such great customer service! Best location by far. Thank you so much Jaden!!!

I can’t believe some of these reviews!! I’ve already been three times since this location opened and it’s always been pleasant. I’ve always been greeted kindly, it’s clean and well kept, and staff is helpful. Service is as quick as any other Panera, food looked fresh and presentable.

I’ve been anxiously awaiting the opening of this Panera since it’s so close to my house compared to all of the others. Having a healthier option in that shopping center is refreshing and definitely much better than the McDonalds nearby! I signed up for Sip Club as soon as they opened and have been by almost every day to get my drink and usually a bite to eat. The service here is on point. It’s very clean, the employees are friendly, my food always tastes fresh, and I’ve never had a long wait even when it seems a bit busier. I hope more sensible people leave reviews and give the staff the recognition they deserve!

Could’ve been better today. Went to the drive-through, ordered 2 bowls, but instead received 2 cups. Good news, they only charged me for 2 cups, but still a little less than satisfied with less soup than I want it. Grand opening, new staff, so giving some grace and will come back. Keep training guys!

They are the only Panera I know, locally, that hast the grind and brew coffee. This is the worst coffee because it has a foam on top that is terrible and when it fades away the taste is still nothing like their regular coffee. I hope the other locals don’t switch to it. If so, I will be cancelling my sip club.

So I like that this restaurant in close to my house, I just think the Customer Service can be better. So I came in today and there was a guy with a New York Giants hoodie on talking to a friend. So I was standing there for 5 minutes for him to stop talking and take my order. He took it but was still talking to his friend. Now if your taking my order then that’s my time, he should have been forced on me at that time. I work in HR and he would have got let go. And he wasn’t in uniform. Please do better
