Stopped here for lunch, very pleased with the food and service. Clean restrooms and plenty of parking. Lots of food choices.

I’ve been in Charlottesville for a little over five years. At first, this location was quite average, But now it’s outstanding! I now come here every weekend to get two bagels and a fountain drink to go and I love it. The bagels are fresh, the fountain dispensers are actually ready to go, and the staff always give service with a smile. Shoutout to Eva for the excellent customer service experience!
A note: I’d still go inside and get your order, as it tends to be faster.

My Chicken Roma Asiago Bagel Stack sandwich was good, but it didn’t look as great as it did on TV. I was expecting more flavor, but the Green Goddess dressing was good. I probably would have asked for some extra, though. I’m thinking I should have put some Himalayan pink salt and pepper on the sandwich when I got home. They say they put salt and pepper on the sandwich, but it didn’tlook like it or taste like it to me. Also, I think a better cheese choice on the sandwich would be a slice of Asiago cheese (instead of fresh mozzarella, which doesn’t have much flavor). I’m thinking they should match the sliced cheese with what is used for the bagel! I didn’t taste any garlic aioli drizzle (I LOVE garlic aioli at Wawa – can surely taste it on my food; and I’m definitely not being paid to endorse Wawa, lol!!)
I give this new sandwich a 3 out of 5 – just my opinion.
As for my son, he ordered the Asian Sesame salad with chicken. Not only did he say it wasn’t filling, he gave it a 2 out of 5. He said there wasn’t enough dressing, and he was definitely disappointed with the ingredients. If you’re expecting the more traditional elements of an Asian Sesame salad, then you’ll likely be disappointed, too. There’s no green or purple cabbage. They use almonds instead of cashews or peanuts, and there’s no ginger in the dressing; no celery, green onion, or carrots in the salad either. So we’re surprised that Panera is calling this salad an Asian Sesame salad – see the photos.
Sufficed to say that for paying more than $31.23 (see the receipt photo), we were disappointed. Could have spent less elsewhere and got fresh ingredients but more flavor. 🙁
On the positive side, the potato chips were good – 4 out of 5. But as for the ‘chunk’ of french baguette that they include with the salad…if you enjoy cold, slightly hard and tough bread, then this is the bread for you. But if you prefer warm, soft, buttered bread that you can eat right away with your meal, then like us, this isn’t the place for you.

Not sure who it is working at this exact moment but service was horrible. We went through drive thru and had questions. The lady was rude and kept saying yeah and trying to rush us. We get to the window no greeting. Just asked us if we ordered grilled cheese. We said no. Told her what we ordered slammed window and walked away. So we drove off. We will not eat at a place like this

Ordered through the drive-thru at Panera Bread and was handed my food with zero silverware. No fork, no spoon, nothing. When you’re ordering soups, salads, or bowls, silverware isn’t exactly optional—it’s basic common sense.
By the time I realized, I was already back on the road. So unless Panera expects customers to eat soup with their hands or pull over and improvise, this is just careless. If I wanted to play “hunt for utensils,” I wouldn’t have used the drive-thru.
For how expensive Panera is, the experience should be effortless—not inconvenient. Simple details matter, and this one was completely overlooked. Very disappointing.

Best Panera I’ve been too! Shelly took our order and was absolutely the sweetest woman. Her kindness made our day!
The food was delicious. This location even had a little cozy corner for kids with small chairs and books.
Thank you Panera and thank you Shelly!

They didn’t pack all our food into the sealed bag, which was a poor choice as expensive Panera is. After spending over $80 dollars. Half of the order was missing which raises concern and Panera made money free and not providing the product is questionable to me on their ethics at this particular location. To make matters worse, my partner wasn’t feeling well and the comfort food of Panera especially the soups was such an inconvenience. We only received 1 sandwich and 1 soup when we ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 two soups with bread bowl. All of which was not in the bag after they checked marked all on the receipt as it was and the bag was fully sealed shut. It was a very disappointing experience, I understand Panera prices has increased significantly due to inflation in which we are happy to pay with no complaint but service should reflect that and make sure customers receive the food they paid for.

First when I go to order, there is no one at the front counter. I go to order on the mobile station and they are out of all of their products it feels like. I order a sandwich I was already iffy about but it was the only thing that I would eat out of the remaining options. When I go to get my food at the counter they tell me they are also out of the bread for the sandwich as well. My friends Mac and cheese came out ice cold. He sent it back and it came back at room temperature, if that. His soup tastes terrible and had hard pieces in it. All the employees are wearing “AirPods” and all the tables are dirty and have crumbs on them. Terrible experience, don’t ever come to this location.

The staff behaves like they’ve been forced into working at Panera. Went there with my wife, the bread was hard as a rock/stale. When asked the manager about it, he simply said that this is just how it is and they bake the bread a day before.
A very poor experience all in all. Never visiting again.
