Great place for meeting friends or a business lunch. Food is always good and, though they rarely change the menu much, there are enough options that it never gets old. Four varieties of coffee all the time. That’s all I needed to hear to love it.
Chicken focaccia, fokachia, fuggedaboutit, chicken sandwich with great veggies was a wonderful lunch.
I didn’t give a raring for service as they don’t wait on tables; place your order, pick it up at the counter and find a table. Always plenty of seating available. Always plenty of parking available as they are in a shopping plaza.

I visited what was, unfortunately, the dirtiest Panera I’ve ever encountered. While I have always enjoyed their food, this experience left me questioning the overall hygiene standards of the establishment.

Upon entering, I was greeted by the tempting aroma of freshly baked goods and hearty soups, but that quickly faded as I took in the surroundings. The floors were in dire need of a thorough cleaning, and the tables were messy and unkempt. It was disheartening to see so many employees working behind the counter, yet no one seemed to take the time to clean the dining area.

One particular server caught my attention—while I appreciate individuality, I was surprised to see a staff member with long hair and a beard, both of which were not secured with a hairnet. This raised serious concerns about food safety and hygiene. In a restaurant environment, especially one known for its fresh ingredients and healthy options, I expect a higher level of cleanliness and attention to detail.

Despite the quality of the food being good as always, the lack of cleanliness overshadowed my experience. It was disappointing to see such a reputable chain fall short in this regard. I hope this location can address these issues promptly, as I would love to enjoy my favorite Panera meals in a more pleasant and hygienic environment.

1st. They have NEVER gotten an order correct(in approximately10 orders) . 2nd. People/staff are very nice. 3rd. They run out of items WAY TOO FAST. For the prices they charge they should never run out of items like bagals.

I usually have zero issues with this location, but 2 days ago I ordered the new French Dip sandwich half and literally was like the old woman from the old commercial “where’s the beef?!” My sandwich look good from the side but when I opened it there was practically NOTHING but bread and cheese! So disappointed in that. I paid $8 for bread and aujus sauce…seriously?! Come on guys…do better! Definitely false advertising there….

Went to Panera in California, MD this morning to have breakfast. As usual, the food prep staff were efficient/speedy, but the front counter folks were a joke and behaved as if they couldn’t care less if we were there. The food was quite good, but the coffee was monstrous. It was weak and off-flavor, meaning it tasted watered down.

Well, things have really changed at this Panera location. It has slowly been on the decline over the years and today put the final “nail in the coffin” so to speak. We placed an online order for our dinner and received poor food and customer service.

The people working the counter did not acknowledge my 20 yo son when he asked for an item that was missing from our order. Just handed over the crisps and walked away. The employee morale seems to be very low and they’re letting customers know with their general demeanor.

The food… completely unacceptable. My wife’s salad had a handful of brown lettuce hidden in the middle of the greens. (Photo for reference) The chicken topping the salad was rubbery and bland as if moved from the freezer to microwave. My turkey sandwich had so much mustard on it that it was too soggy to eat by the time we got home. And last of all, the chicken noodle soup was very greasy and contained about 20% noodles, chicken, and vegetables. The rest was just chicken stalk.

We decided to treat ourselves to a nice Sunday evening meal at Panera and that was clearly a mistake. I sure do hope they improve whatever issues they’re having; whether it’s hiring better personnel, addressing supply chain issues, or otherwise.

*Original review from 2018* I love Panera! The grilled chicken Caesar salad is my favorite. Wish they’d open a second location. I find myself ordering from the app more frequently so I can get in and out without fighting the insane crowds typical of Southern Maryland. Panera does a pretty good job considering. Keep up the good work ladies and gents!

By fair one of the worst Panera’s. Never any clean tables in there, floor always sticky and dirty, tables sticky. ALWAYS check the amount of meat you have on your sandwich because they put so little. They NEVER give you the pickle that COMES WITH your sandwich. If you change anything about your order ALWAYS CHECK because they will ignore the modifications every single time. It’s ridiculous.

I don’t know what the problem is with this location but my last 3 orders have not been correctly fulfilled when placed online. The latest being a breakfast sandwich. I ordered the Sausage Egg Cheese on a Brioche Bun. Arrived at store to pick it up checked the receipt on bag and looked in bag and appeared everything was correct. When I arrived home opened the sandwich my sausage mysteriously became bacon…. It’s just super simple things that they just can’t seem to get right. It is almost like the kitchen staff cannot read or understand English. (See Photo Receipt) it clearly says SAUS at the end for sausage. I would imagine if I ordered bacon it would have said BACN at the end.

If the management can get the online orders correct I would be more then willing to return but at this point I’m 3 for 3 with there online ordering and each time it was not correct. The first time I ordered bread bowls and received the soup but no bread bowl. The second time I ordered a sandwich with Lettuce only and received a sandwich fully loaded.

Bottom line is if you don’t mind not getting what you order then this is your best place to order form.
