Love Panera Bread restaurants, but I usually don’t come to them . My niece wanted to come here. No problem with restaurant but for two of us almost $40 just ridiculous. I don’t come here she only got a salad. That it. The portion was also small. So sorrybi didn’t take a picture.

I’m very happy with my food, as always. However, the service wasn’t good, I didn’t receive my whole order ready to go, I had to ask abt it separately, as well as, the atmosphere is a little weird and felt like a buffet.

Joel greeted me with the biggest smile, so polite, unfortunately they were out of bread bowls but that happens. My order was perfect, the place was clean, they all work together as a team. Super impressed with this location!

Panera is underrated, it’s way better than PRESSED CAFE or any similar lunch place.

I love the GRILLED SANDWICH, no one makes it better than them. I also liked the CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA SOUP, the flavors of fresh ingredients and their unique combo with lentils and rice is amazing.

The overall ambiance is green and classic. It’s a must visit for a change. Enjoy your time and food.

I accidently dropped my wallet in the restaurant. A patron reportedly turned it in to the manager. They found my business card inside and called me. I came and picked it up, and my $500 cash was still in it. I fully expected to pay the “idiot tax” (wallet returned without cash), but was relieved to find that everyone who handled my wallet was honest. Thank you!

This Panera is close to my house. I stop by sometimes, and in my opinion, it has more bakery options.

I have never gotten a proper order from this location. Today I ordered a bagel unsliced alongside a Mac and cheese and a coffee. I requested utensils. No straw, no spoon, and they had actually BUTCHERED my bagel when it was never necessary to cut it to begin with. I tried to call the store and requested to speak with a supervisor or manager, and was left on hold for 6 minutes straight, to which I pretty much gave up and hung up. Boyfriend and I have decided this is the last time we will be giving business to this location, as this is not the first time they’ve screwed up and not even the worst screw up we’ve experienced (they’ve forgotten multiple items from orders in the past). We never have problems with any other Panera location, seems to just be the Newton Highland Ave location that’s an absolutely poorly managed dumpster fire.

I came around 6pm and ate dinner, played a game, and stepped out for a walk. I came back 9 min before 8pm, when my Too Good To Go order was scheduled for pick up. It wasn’t ready yet, and I get that, I was early, so I stood to the side, listened to music in my earbuds, and looked out the window.

Someone, who I assume was the manager, came over and handed bags of tiny orange scones to the woman who was packaging the treats. I took my earplugs out and said “can I make a request? Can I have some of the orange scones?” The manager snapped “no requests! It’s a surprise box! You don’t get to pick!”

WOW. Aside from the fact that I’ve been using Too Good to Go for maybe a year, and I also managed a cafe of my own, and if I have ever said “just so you know, I really like x treat,” the response has ALWAYS been “ooh me too! I’ll make sure you get one.” I mean, it’s there. It’s getting given away anyway. Why be rude and say “you don’t get to make requests!” That’s just poor customer service.

That $3 interaction could build you rapport, and that customer will come back. OR, you can do what this guy did, and argue about a $3 scone you’re about to throw out anyway, and leave the customer with a bad experience, unlikely to come back.

The places I frequent, I often tell them “just so you know, I really like x,” and they absolutely give it to me if it’s there. And guess what: I make a point to give those places MORE business, because I start to build relationships.

I also worked for Panera back in the day. I won employee of the month twice. How? I put the customer first. If the customer got excited about a blueberry bagel with maple walnut cream cheese, I did too. If I knew a customer enjoyed a specific treat, and I saw them coming, I would use that as a conversation piece and say: “Hey (insert name here)! I was thinking about you when I saw we had one brownie left! I’m so glad you made it in time!!!”

THAT is customer service. What I experienced today was a stupid power trip over a cheap scone.

Customer service is EVERYTHING.

Read your reviews. It looks like this is point of weakness. I hope my review inspires change. I do love Panera.

Read my other reviews. I review a lot, and rarely is it negative. This interaction stuck out that much.

There should be a separate pick up process if you are just getting a drink … waiting 15 minutes just to get a cup that you fill yourself of ridiculous. This is the worst location I’ve been to.
