We have not been to this little restaurant in over 7 years, but today the Panel Room still proves to be a great restaurant with delicious food, family atmosphere, and fantastic service.
Our server, Abby did an amazing job waiting on our table. Thank you Abby for great service! The restaurant serves homestyle lunches, dinners, and breakfast. You also can’t go wrong with their soup and salad bar. It’s a small bar, with salad and the salad fixings, 2 soups, roasted chicken, mash potatoes, green beans, meat ball noodle casserole, and on this particular day, combined with a full breakfast bar.
We were satisfied when we left and will return again. Thank you!

Really nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. The service is always lovely. The food is never disappointing. The prices are so reasonable and the portions are amazing. I truly have no complaints, ever. Their broasted chicken is incredible- literally everyone that I’ve ever brought here gets it and is beyond satisfied and is always asking to come back here when they visit. The chicken dinner deal on Wednesday is AMAZING. You forever have my heart Panel Room.

Stop into the Panel Room yesterday for breakfast I must say it will be the 1st and last time I do stop in for breakfast. Horrible. I ordered a Denver Omelet add mushrooms. Their omelets state on the menu 4 eggs. This omelet I received might have been 2 eggs (questionable maybe 1 egg) definitely not 4. I have had much bigger 3 egg omelets then this 4 eggs was. Stating I ordered add mushrooms. Well mushrooms were for sure their but there was no GREEN PEPPER? 2 small pieces of HAM? The ONIONS none? Cheese just a little on top of the omelet. Who put CHEESE on the top of an Omelet? I have always had CHEESE inside my Omelets. Let talk about COLD COLD COLD and GREASEY because it was COLD COLD food. I have been to restaurant all across America. I find it a SHAME that 3 restaurants in my area have the worst Omelets in 50 states. Top Coming in on top at #1 Hoppers up by Berrien Springs, Mi. #2 Panel Room in Hartford, Mi. #3 Nicky’s Cafe in Decatur, Mi.
If you want a really good Omelet with a fair price. I suggest Rise N Shine out by Barron Lake.
My friend apologized to me for taking me to the Panel Room for breakfast. He stated that he went on a weekend for the buffet. He stated to me that he didn’t try the Omelet at that time. He also stated how HORRIBLE, COLD and GEASY his Omelet was and that the ingredients were very very skimpy. He also questioned the 4 eggs.
My friend also has eaten in 50 states as we hauled trailers all over this great country for several years and many restaurants in between.

Great local establishment that has great breakfasts. The staff has always been pleasant even when they are super busy. Their pancakes are amazing and their French toast even better. They have pizza as well and a salad bar. They also have a Sunday brunch buffet. Prices are reasonable. Right off the highway for easy on and off. Clean bathrooms.

Had the $4.99 special hamburger and fries and it by far a great deal plus being a great hamburger.
Waitress was great. Wife had a turkey club sandwich and it was great also. Very good coleslaw, not too sweet or bitter like some

The Panel Room is from a time I feared America lost. It’s from a time where every small town had a local restaurant that was renowned for something – but actually good at everything. A family business, for families to enjoy. Where prices are maintained for years because owners down want people to think they are trying to get rich and they are getting by just fine (while giving more and more money to their staff so they can make it). Where the food is prepared fresh, from local small backyard gardens by the patrons of the restaurant. Where the server is your mom’s best friend, knows everyone, never stops moving, keeps your glass full, and knows your order soon as you walk in. (I admit, I love being called sweetheart too). A place that can be counted upon to be open is a snow storm, support the local kids baseball team, and have a jar at the front taking extra change for a person in need. I’ve traveled the world. Ate cold Army chow out of a bag to not starve, ate Michelin Star restaurant chow I couldn’t afford, and sat at my grandmothers table eating the finest food love could prepare. The Panel Room is one of my favorite places in America. Because it’s a Time Machine back to my childhood. A reminder of the values of a family and community that is exactly like my home 1000 miles away. This place is more than special. It’s exceptional. And don’t forget, the food is amazing. Thank you Panel Room. For keeping just a little bit of my American childhood alive. The food and service was the best I’ve ever had. Grandma would be proud.

Chili was not good
Pepper crab soup was ok.
Salad bar was decent not a lot to choose from.
The French dip with peppers, mozzarella cheese & mushrooms was not good. The beef was dry and the aus jus was TERRIBLE & greasy.
I ordered fried mushrooms for an up charge and they were good
Our server was good
The bathrooms were not handicap accessible. No pull bars and toilet was extremely low.
No return trip.
