Of Panda Machi, a Lament and a Love

O Panda Machi, thou cherished house of comfort and delight,
Where East meets East in harmony most rare.
Full oft have I sat within thy walls and taken joy in thy bounty—
That noble combination platter, crowned with orange chicken bright,
Its glaze like amber in the sun;
Fried rice, a faithful friend, warm and steadfast;
And wontons, crisp and golden, hiding tender hearts within.
And when my mood did wander toward the gentle tide,
I sought thy avocado rolls—soft, green crescents of peace.
In all the world of plates and bowls, thou wert my dearest place.

Yet woe, alas! A cruel week hath passed,
And fire, that faithless thief, did ravage thy kitchen fair.
The hearth that once gave life to flavor now lies hushed and scarred,
And my heart, too, bears ash where joy once danced.
For it is no small thing when a beloved table falls silent—
A place not merely of food, but of memory, habit, and solace.

Still, though the flames have had their hour,
They shall not have the last word.
For Panda Machi lives beyond brick and pan—
In the longing of its loyal guests,
In the taste remembered, vivid as ever upon the tongue.
Rise again, sweet kitchen; be rebuilt with time and care.
Until that day, know this: thou art missed, thou art mourned,
And thou art loved.

Been wanting to come here for a long time and was not disappointed!! Everything is super fresh here and literally the sushi melts in your mouth! The salt and pepper chicken and the popcorn green beans is a must try if you haven’t yet, so crispy and seasoned to perfection! My friend and I could not resist eating everything off the plate! It was THAT good!! And to top it off…..the drinks we got was Citrus Mistress and Rose milk green tea. It was delicious !
The host was a sweetheart and made us feel super special! We will definitely be back not just for the food but also for the ambience and the feeling of family. This is one must stop if you ever visit Alpine…you won’t be disappointed!!

Always gotta stop by here anytime I’m in San Diego for the salt and pepper wangsss. They are cwispy and comes with a side of rice. I feel like other restaurants don’t serve rice with their salt & pepper wings unless you sit down. The chicken is well seasoned + all the extra peppers and toppings they load on top. Worth the drive!

Like other reviewers, I cant understand how this place remains in business. The miso soup tasted terrible. I ordered teriyaki chicken and the chicken was inedible. It tasted like dog meat. I had them replace it with beef which was slightly better but still tasted off. As I walked out, I noticed another customer ate everything on his plate, but the chicken. I will be contacting the health department because this is completely unacceptable. I have had a stomach ache for the past 2 days. I bet the high reviews are from those who order anything fried, which is hard to mess up, or have never had authentic delicious food in their life (which is very sad) Absolutely disgusting and un-American. Everyone in this establishment should be very ashamed of themelselves and embarrassed for their life and soul

I came here for the first time on 5/22/22 and we were blown away with the quality and service of this place! Me and my sister tried their taro boba and it was delicious and we ordered the house chicken, Mongolian beef, and orange chicken. These were the best I’ve ever had in my life! The food also was really quick and I loved it soo much! I would definitely recommend this place and will for sure be coming back!

Food is tasty… just comes out at different times… like 20 minutes for my late to come, then my husband’s. Entrees came before appetizer. Great food, just timing needs to improve.

Let’s talk sushi. The fish here is so fresh that I half expected it to start swimming off the plate! The rolls are so beautifully crafted that you might feel a twinge of guilt eating them, but that won’t stop you. Trust me, this sushi is so good that you’ll wonder if they have a secret portal to the ocean in their kitchen.

We tried Panda Machi for the first time today. We were seated right away. We ordered the fried gyoza, the 7 pc nigiri chef’s choice platter with a California roll, a Phoenix roll, and also an eel roll. The gyoza was delicious, the nigiri platter was a great deal and pretty tasty too. The eel roll, cali roll and Phoenix roll were pretty decent. They have a huge menu with a mix of Chinese and Japanese food. I think next time we will try their Chinese menu. Overall, good place.
