He then called over to two employees on the grill and let them know he needed super greens.
That’s when things got a little odd—they immediately started complaining and saying something back to him (I couldn’t make out what). Naturally, I was watching because I was confused. You’re on the grill, you’re supposed to be cooking sides and entrees, and a customer requested something you offer—so why the attitude? It honestly didn’t make sense.
Anyway, my mom paid for the food, and we reminded the cashier that our order included super greens. She told us, “Oh, they already put them in your plate.” That was surprising, because the manager had just said they needed to be cooked. When I got home and opened my plate, I found only three small pieces of broccoli and a single piece of cabbage.
It was disappointing, especially because I come here enough and almost always get chow mein and super greens so I know the portions. I don’t expect a huge portion, but at least a reasonable amount—especially when I’m paying for a side that’s meant to be vegetables. To make things worse, the broccoli I did get was barely even cooked.
Honestly, I think I’ll be taking a break from this location for a while. I could’ve gone to China Star down the street, gotten more food, no attitude, and spent less money—even if they had to cook it fresh.
Update 4/17/2021 – Seems as of late, they have changed some ordering procedures. If you want sauces of any kind, you need to ask when you order or at the window or they will not put any in your bag. Learned this the hard way. Got a couple miles down the road and had to turn around, so I snatched some pics while I was at it.
Ps why is the inside of the store always closed?
