The quality of the food is generally satisfactory. However, the brown rice and lo mein taste bland. Also, quite often, there are dishes that are out, and you have to wait for more to come out. The overall customer service is adequate, although there was an instance where an employee was observed handling their phone and then proceeding to handle food, which is a matter of concern for me. It is imperative that all employees adhere to the practice of WEARING GLOVES while serving food. I am uncertain as to why the manager on duty is not ensuring compliance with this regulation to the employees.

I’m no stranger to Panda Express, but this afternoon was my first time at this location. There was a more seasoned employee putting together the orders and 3 additional staff bagging and working one register. I don’t know if they were all new or not, but they seemed so confused, the line was backed out to the door, and I saw one male employee get so flustered he had to turn around to take a deep breath before turning back to assist. It’s just fast food. Shouldn’t be too hard to ring people up quickly when there are 3 people standing there.
I did try something new this time (the black pepper chicken) because apparently they don’t carry string bean chicken breast. I was annoyed, but the food was actually really good.

Literally the best Chinese I’ve had in so long. It’s reliably good unlike most takeout spots and everyone is super friendly. My food was ready SO quickly even on a Saturday dinner time, and was absolutely delicious. I really couldn’t have had a better experience.
I’m so glad I decided to try Panda again after they came to the children’s hospital with free food for staff and it made my whole month. Brook road campus never really gets thought of so it was super special and we were all so happy.

This is the only Panda Express I’ve been aboard and they’ve set the bar high for their other locations. The spirited staff always have this place running like a well-oiled machine, steadily WOKing and rolling to keep the line moving.
I don’t know if it’s the absence of a drive-thru or if we’re just that lucky on timing, but they always have the food fresh and well stocked. We usually each get the ‘Plate” and always find the proportions of the rice/noodles commensurate with the meats.
My wife naturally loves their famous Orange chicken while my go-to is the Beijing Beef, which has the perfect combination of crisp and tangy flavor with a hint of spice.

Looks can be deceiving because the place looks and smells good. Food uncooked and tasteless. I had fried rice, I promise you the rice was not fully cooked. My mom had the chowmein…noodles not cooked. The black pepper chicken was hard to eat. I enjoyed the sesame chicken and walnut shrimp

Today , I sent my child in (16 yrs old). To redeem her Panda Express card from a recent messed up order ( AND ALSO MY CASH FOR MY FOOD). I noticed my child looking uncomfortable and very red in the face. (She’s a light skin 90 pound girl (nonconfrontational) being TOUCHED AND YELLED AT ! . When I walked into the store I heard a guy describing my child’s outfit over the intercom saying that the police are being called and a whole lot of unnecessary RUDE THINGS. I was in the CAR. (I try to let her be independent and do things by herself). After 20 minutes of me sitting in my car. I CAME IN AND MY BABY WAS JUST RED CRYING AND SAD! I asked what happened and mey mey started to tell me she was lying about the card . Mind you mey mey gave her the card on 10/09/10. ( my baby loves panda she could eat it everyday) my baby told me everything that happened and about the card. i STATED THAT THE CARD THAT THE MANAGER ( MEY – MEY ) at 4501 SOUTH LABURNUM AVENUE RICHMOND VA, MEY MEY GAVE MY CHILD AN OLD GIFT CARD ! AND MARKED OCTOBER 10TH ON IT! The card expired 06/30/25 ! She did not want to take my child’s card and refused it and my baby swiped my card for a drink and an egg roll. She didn’t even want to give my baby the food I paid for ! After she waited all day after school for it. My baby was hungry ! And I was too ! It was a RACE thing! The whole establishment were Mexican! The only black thing in there was my baby ! And that’s why I teach my child what “ STEREOTYPES “ are ! They already have us figured out in their minds! Being a brown non confrontational girl in a world of people who already have their mind made up of who we are is heartbreaking. I try to explain to my baby everyday! To not be the character that they perceive her out to be. I did NOT appreciate that lady putting her hands on my baby. And everybody speaking only Spanish when I came in! That did not sit right with me at all. MEY- MEY escorted my baby out the door. And tried to explain when she seen me . AND TOUCHED ME AS WELL.

Just visited today 3/31 around 1pm! I typically don’t leave reviews but I had a great experience at this location. Everyone was working hard and trying to be as speedy as humanly possible! The girls working along with the manager were friendly and welcoming. They handled themselves professionally even when a woman was fussing and getting upset about waiting on her Teriyaki Chicken then tried to make it seem like the girls were being “rude”. They were not being rude at all. Just trying to understand what she needed and resolve it promptly. I will be returning! The food was fresh and yummy! ❤️

I downloaded the app and ordered on line with a 3:16 PM pickup time. This was completed with ease. Unfortunately, there was no designated pickup area or signage for picking up online orders. It was not mentioned on the email confirmation. I ended up waiting in line with the people ordering at the counter. There was delay due to a customer’s order being wrong; however, I applaud the employee’s attitude in trying to make it right. When I went to the counter, I was told that I should have gone straight to the register. I stood to the right of the register while the person there continued to help those in line and someone came from behind and got my order off the shelf 30 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. I told them that they needed to fix that process if they were doing online orders. The employee was very respectful and apologized to me for the wait. I ordered “The Bigger Plate” which included 3 entrees (The Original Orange Chicken, Beijing beef, and Black Pepper Angus Steak with fried rice and the veggie spring roll). The portions were generous, enough for dinner and lunch the next day. The vegetables in the spring rolls were very mushy. The food would have been better if it had been hot. They are worth giving a try, especially if they fix the online ordering pickup process.

I went back to Panda Express for their 2nd chance. I ordered from their app and added a note to include chop sticks and spicy mustard (this was ignored).
I headed straight to the register since I learned this from my previous experience; however, the young lady at the register continued to take people coming though the line. She did not even look my way. I saw the online orders on the shelf and when I looked up, I saw a sign by the menu board “ONLINE ORDERS”. Fortunately, someone from the back who saw me looking up at the sign and the shelves came out and gave me my order. The portion was generous; however, the Orange Chicken and Beijing beef did not have any sauce to mix in with the rice, and had an after taste.
Pickup for online orders is still a work in progress. Overall, my rating stands as is.

I’m truly upset and dissatisfied in the quality of my food purchased last night from the Panda Express located on Laburnum Ave Richmond VA (White Oaks)! I ordered the plate with double orange chicken and fried rice and another plate with Terrayaki chicken and black pepper chicken with fried rice. Got home, sat down to eat and my rice was disgusting! The rice had a weird “mushy texture”. Both myself and my husband were shocked Panda Express would serve over cooked rice, mixed with hard peices of rice! We couldn’t eat it. Just a big clump of nasty rice! Expect more complaints because I saw several Door Dash orders being made with the same rice! You need to fix this and replace our meals! DISSATISFIED Customer!
