The food was fresh and flavorful. I ordered tacos a la carte—two asada and two carnitas—plus a California burrito with asada. Of course, I couldn’t skip a refreshing horchata and a Jarritos on the side. The only things I wish were different: it would’ve been nice if salsa and chips were offered complimentary, and the carnitas were a bit on the dry side.
Overall, it’s not just a great local spot for tacos and burritos, but also a place I’d want to return to for fresh meat. Definitely worth a visit!
Great place for meat products to cook and grilled .small counter stool eating area.
Tacos taste excellent. Huge portion
Price is way cheaper than other large dining restaurants.. we got the steak. Fish .pork .chicken. all taste great
The dishes I that got me to here are the Asada fries. Freaking loaded huge portion
We both almost couldn’t Finnish it .
Don’t let the small meat shop fool you
Their food taste great, huge portion, great price, and definitely will be back
I went with chorizo and al pastor tacos. They are very good street-style tacos. $2.50 each
Packed full, with grilled onions & strips of radish (I know, never saw that before either!) and a bunch of lime wedges (well, half wedges) on the side. Two types of salsa also. I tried one, the red, and it is picante. Muy bueno. (Sorry ) I brought the green home for later use.
If you want a beverage, cans & bottles are in the cooler. $2.50 each.
The only place to eat is a high counter along one wall. Stools or standing are your options.
The music is authentic but too loud. Would’ve liked a fork to pick up the bits that fell out but fingers still work. Used a lot of napkins.
The place has some seating options but it’s a bit small, so most people would take out.
I wouldn’t recommend Tortas because: the telera is just like a hamburger bread in a telera shape, not what I was expecting tbh.
The not so good part:
Hm they would ration limes, like literally if you want one slice more you have to pay for it, that’s not cool same thing with grilled Chile/salsas you get what you get and “anything else is an extra “
Every taco comes packed full of meat and every order comes with a side of caramelized onions, a grilled pepper, lime wedges, radish strips, and salsa, which already puts this place above most taco shops. The salsas are amazing, i could drink them with a straw they’re that good. The cilantro and onions on top are always crisp and never taste old, and everything i have ever ordered is clean and fresh. You can add cheese if you want, but honestly, the tacos don’t even need it, they’re perfect on their own.
The prices are also insanely good for the quality. It’s actually cheaper than getting fast food, except this is real food that actually fills you up. My fiancé and I come here and completely pig out, and it’s usually around $25-$30 total—even if we each get a drink and a bunch of tacos. We’ll go get fast food and somehow spend $40 or more and still leave unsatisfied and not feeling great.
Here, you can eat less, feel full, and feel good. And even if you are like me and sometimes overeat because you can’t stop yourself from the delicious tacos, you somehow will never feel gross afterward, just satisfied.
And if tacos aren’t your bread and butter, i have also tried other things here that were absolutely amazing and i plan to cycle through and try the whole menu because i have never been disappointed. Everything is so delicious i could cry.
The asada fries were so good i really thought i had died and gone to heaven. The fries were so crispy yet soft inside and they were absolutely LOADED full of toppings. Steak, guacamole, cheese, salsa, sour cream, cilantro, tomato, it was fantastic and such a large portion it could have been shared!
The quesadillas were soft and also loaded full of meat. Quesadillas are usually so plain and nothing to write home about but these were unlike any quesadillas i have ever had. They had the delicious melty cheese and all the flavorful meat like a gooey pocket of heaven.
And the breakfast burrito was the most amazing burrito I’ve ever had. It not only beat out other breakfast burritos, but all burritos in general. It was huge and full of meat that was mixed with the eggs so the texture was phenomenal and that is coming from someone who does not usually like eggs. and on top of that, the flavor was just unreal. It was not greasy or too heavy, just the perfect meal to start my morning.
I have even tried the flan which is soft, creamy, and sweet. It is the perfect way to end a meal.
If i could eat here for all three meals a day, every single day for the rest of my life, i would.
And even though 90% of my review is about the food, there is more to this place than that. The shop is always clean, the staff is friendly, especially the young girl that always takes our order, and you can tell they care about what they’re serving. If I could give 500 stars, I would. Hands down the best food around. I cannot recommend this place enough.
