I placed an online order that consisted of 4 burritos and a quesadilla. When I took a bite of my burrito, it was all rice. I unwrapped it, and it was not a burrito that was on my order at all. There was no beans, no queso, and it was LOADED with rice and pico. I checked the rest of my order, and every single burrito was made wrong, as was the quesadilla (they put rice on the quesadilla). I called and spoke to a manager, and the woman tried to tell me that I needed to call Uber Corporate because apparently, she felt that a driver had picked up my order, and she expected that I was supposed to chase down this driver to get my food. Then I explained to her that the stickers on the outside of the burrito had the names and the orders, yet the wrong burritos. Oh yeah, and my order was a pick up order. She continued to argue with me until I insisted that I was going to come back and have them remake my order correctly. When my husband got there, ALL FOUR managers who were on staff, argued about them making the order “correctly”, though they were CLEARLY wrong. I have NEVER been treated so poorly, especially when I spent over $70 at a place to eat. The behavior is disgusting, and the fact that rather than just being apologetic for making EVERYTHING incorrect, they were rude, abrasive, insulting, and VERY stand-offish. And THIS is their MANAGEMENT TEAM! I will NOT be returning to the Riverside location EVER again! What a bad look for Pancheros, a VERY beloved staple in Iowa City, and the midwest.

This location has gone up and down since the covid disruption. They invested a ton of money in the physical building in 2025 and the staff also seems great now. I think they’re on the up and I hope it stays that way.

UPDATE: After two weeks, support got back to me. Told me to go back into the location with the receipt and ask for a refund..from two weeks ago. I live 189 miles away and was here visiting a family. Absolutely insane. Happy that I reported this health code violation since they can’t refund. Even sent photos.

Visiting family for winter break. This is the first time I’d been to this pancheros since the remodel.
Day shift was spot on.
Night shift was not. Employees were cussing and acting obnoxiously, asked for extra meat and I got tiny extra scoop, and the burrito fell apart halfway through.

Would have given five stars only problem was the lady serving us skimped out on the portions my Wife’s bowl was half the size it usually is at other pancheros locations. Same goes for my burrito there was more tortilla then filling. Was slightly disappointed but overall still love pancheros I think it might of just been because of the rush
