The outdoor patio area was nice, and we enjoyed sitting out there. However, the customer service and staff personality could use improvement; it seemed like the owner was the one serving us.

Unfortunately, the jerk chicken was awful–it tasted off and was quite unpleasant. The oxtails with peas and rice were just okay, and I noticed they forgot to include the plantains.

The large red snapper was acceptable for my taste, although my sister thought it was good.

Overall, I wouldn’t consider returning. With a bill of $161, I didn’t feel it was worth it, and I chose not to leave a tip.

I like to feel appreciated and enjoy my food. It wasn’t hot ( only fish)

Also all the owner do on these review is make excuses and argue Dang!

The food was great. The owners came and talked to us personally for awhile. The food was a little spicer with the Carribian background than my wife was used from her region of Panama. But each family is used to how their mom or grandparents make things. Overall it was delicious.
On an important side note they are relocating to Long Beach and having a name change to PTY, after Panama’s airport.

Delicious food, unique flavors that mesh perfectly together.

Rum cake, Chicken stew, tamales and empanadas 10/10

Fast friendly service, large space, parking is a lil difficult but food is well worth it.

We placed an order online for pick up and unfortunately online said they had no empanadas but they did have a few left when I got there but we were in a rush and couldn’t get them. Food was extremely spicy compared to Panamanian food. Most of the country dont tend to cook with spicy ingredients but they over did it! Even the mild was very spicy to the point that it wasnt enjoyable and I can handle really spicy food and this was a lil too much. Great portion but I didnt even want my left over due to the spice level other than that, I think I would just call and place my order since we used a 3rd party ordering method.

Ordered the Patacones, Jerk Chicken and the Stew Chicken. This was all AMAZING and so tasty. The chicken fell off the bone on the stew chicken. The patacones were just right- salty and crispy. The jerk chicken was just the perfect amount of spice. Also got a taste of the oxtail and it was so good. Empty plate club- Will definitely come back.

The host was so friendly and the food was delicious! The sancocho was a great size and tasted so flavorful. We also got a side of jackfruit stew (vegetarian, possibly vegan) and it was the most flavorful and hearty vegetarian dish I have ever had!! Definitely would recommend!!!!!!

I never leave reviews. I ordered about $100 worth of food togo. The lady wanted me to leave a good tip, so I was in a good mood and left 20% for takeout. I was so excited I started to eat it in my car. Oxtail and Jerk brown chicken. Both extremely salty. I even brought them home and rinsed in hot water because they were so salty. I love salt and always salt my meats, but these dishes were not edible. I would probably need a half a pot of rice to balance out the salt in the oxtail. The chicken was overcooked and was stringy and dry and too salty. Reminds me of heavy soy sauce, overcooked to make everything turn black. Don’t know how they stay in business with food like that located in an expensive part of town??? People can actually eat this stuff?

I had the jerk chicken and my husband had the snapper. Both were so tender, juicy and delicious! The owner Mercedes is there to make sure everything is amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will be back!

Look no further when it comes to Caribbean cuisine in LA

I’m still in this restaurant while I type this. CSKLA is amazing! We got the full snapper, Sancocho (stew with rice), patacon, jerk mac, and curry & beef Patties (empanadas). Including the tip it came out to about $88 for two. Everything was seriously perfect. The snapper was breaded and fried to perfection, not dry at all but watch out for bones. The patacon were so crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Very flavorful and I couldn’t stop eating them. The jerk mac was so flavorful and not too spicy! And the Patties were so full and perfectly seasoned.

The place has a great ambience, service was quick considering they’re making everything fresh made to order (our fish took about 20 min). Beautiful inside playing all of the island favorites including salsa and reggae music. I’m coming back so I can try the rest of the menu! Bravo CSKLA! You got a serious fan

AWFUL experience!!! Made reservations at this restaurant on Valentine’s day base on reviews, big MISTAKE!!! Seated at 6:25pm, didn’t get served for water and order until 20 minutes later. Some guests got here later but were served food before us. Waited for 1 hr 40 mins and only 1 side of $15 luke warm chopped up boney dried jerk chicken came and still missing another side and the entrée. Server barely came to check on us once to apologize and offered drinks on the house. Should have left at that point but we were naive and patiently waited another 30 mins. During the wait, at least 3 other tables left due to long waits, and somehow the restaurant still decided to take more customers in when they could barely serve food out to existing customers. Finally we asked how long would the food take or else we are leaving, and server said he would check again and stated that they might comp the food if it took longer than 10 mins. After that, food just magically showed up, only with portions half sized compared to other tables and what we saw on reviews – 3 tiny pieces oxtail for $33 and $10 for a small bowl of soggy jerk mac and cheese. Took 10 more mins for the check to come but no one even came back for payment!!! No discounts was offered at all and only left with sad food and salty memories. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE, or you would have your day ruined and your life wasted…
