Older 1880s building beautifully finished for a lovely evening – with pillar candles in the fireplace. The staff was super friendly and both owners came by to say hello at different points in our meal. I went with two of my sons and we had such a great experience! The signature cocktails and the spicy tuna and crispy rice appetizer were delicious. My sons had the truffle cheddar bombolini and a golden beet salad. So many layers of flavors! Then we ordered all three pasta dishes with the burrata cheese and, after sampling each other’s plates, spent the rest of that course arguing about which was the best – we each liked our own dish the most, of course! For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding (oh my goodness, soooo good!), the yummy chocolate mousse and a root beer float made with root beer from Saranac. We left stuffed and so happy! Jacob and Khendum have created a thoughtful, locally and artisanally sourced, and delicious menu. Clearly a lot of love has gone into their place. We will be back!!

I’ve now eaten at Panacea many times — always coming back (this week, two times in a week!) because this restaurant is consistently delicious and creative. Amenia and the neighboring areas are lucky to have such talented, kind and innovative chefs and their friendly crew in our small town area.
I wish I had photos of my most recent meals, which include the P.F.C. (Panacea Fried Chicken, batter made with rice flour) and a gluten-free vegetarian pasta dish. I also regularly get their sea bass pho. The curried spinach, bok choi and Japanese sweet potato side dishes are insane too.
DO NOT skip out on dessert!! Homemade ice cream, sticky toffee pudding, dark chocolate mousse, root beer float…there’s something for everyone.

For my fellow GF-ers: I’m a massive foodie who had to go gluten in the last year and I’ve searched far and wide for the best gluten-free fried chicken and pastas in NYC and in London. Panacea’s is easily the best. I have been let down by many a gluten-free pasta and this homemade pasta is just as good — if not better — as the best fresh, non gluten-free pasta I’ve had anywhere in the world. I’m just down the road but would seriously drive hours to come to this restaurant.

Panacea is the perfect local Pub with elevated, very accessible food and drink. You can order house-made pasta, salads, Steak, Burgers, or just snack on appetizers and sides; everything is wonderful.
The owners have impressive culinary pedigree and natural hospitality instincts. The staff is wonderful and very engaged.

Panacea is officially my new favorite restaurant. My husband and I shared several dishes, and every single one was incredible. We started with the Caesar salad and the spicy tuna on crispy rice. For our next round, we ordered the gluten-free handmade Campanelle pasta and the fried chicken (also naturally gluten-free!). The chicken was unbelievably tender, and the side of sweet potatoes with wasabi aioli was insanely delicious.
We finished with the sticky toffee pudding—OMG, I’ll be dreaming about it tonight.
The staff were wonderful: so kind, so accommodating. The vibe was perfect too—moody lighting, cool artwork, and a playlist that went from Sade to the Grateful Dead. You can tell this place is made with so much love. It’s truly something special.

Make it a point to visit Panacea whenever you’re anywhere near Amenia. It was hands down the best meal I’ve had in ages. The cozy vibe feels like stepping into someone’s warm Upstate home, the staff is wonderfully attentive, and every dish was somehow better than the last—my kids licked their plates clean. If you’re gluten-free, don’t miss their homemade pastas. And whatever you do, don’t sleep on the Bullwinkle mousse.

I was in town and decided to stop in for a drink and a quick bite. I’m glad I did. Very warm, inviting atmosphere. I sat at the bar and ordered a drink (pictured) from the happy hour menu. The bartender Sam was very friendly and knowledgable about the drinks. We got to talking about our dogs because who doesn’t love talking about our pups. I ordered the burger and fries(pictured). It was delicious. Perfectly cooked and flavorful. The homemade fries were some of the best Ive ever had. I then got their mezcal cocktail. If I didn’t have to drive, I definitely would’ve gotten another one of the mezcal drinks. It was right up my alley. I will definitely be back to try their pastas and the fried chicken, as well as to get that mezcal cocktail. If you’re in the area, you must stop here. If you’re not in the area, you should get there for their food, drinks and hospitality!

Panacea is a must visit – The food, atmosphere, and service in combination made for one of the best meal experiences I’ve had in a while. A variety of types cuisine are offered with something for every taste. Even with such a diverse offering, the menu has a clear sense of wholeness with every plate thoughtfully having a relationship with everything else on the menu. A sense of warmth and homeyness was tucked away in these tasting level meals, expert execution tying every plate together. All of this in a cozy dining room that truly evoked a sense of being invited into a home (with the hospitality to match!). We ate nearly every bite of 4+ entrees between 3 of us, we could not stop stuffing our faces it was simply so delicious. Hats off to the incredible chefs and staff. Will certainly be back again.

Our new local go-to. Owners Khendum and Jacob genuinely care about the restaurant and the people who frequent it; making rounds to every table whenever they can and it’s never forced or intrusive…just warm and welcoming. (Imagine actually putting the ‘hospitable’ in hospitality!)
The food is outstanding; the pasta is made fresh and the dishes are inventive and delicious. The steak is melt-in-your-mouth and the sea bream is delightful. Feel free to order any starter or market side as we’ve tried them all and have never regretted it.
The pub room and bar feel like a cozy city neighborhood bar and the cocktails are perfect. The outdoor seating is surrounded by large hydrangea and make it feel as though you’re eating in your own garden…(or what you’d like your garden to be.)
This is the perfect third place. Our neighborhood is lucky to have it.

The property is very beautiful. The restaurant filled up pretty quickly on a Thursday night. Our server was attentive and very considerate throughout the night. We were celebrating three birthdays and had a hungry child with us. The owner came out and greeted us and immediately we were given stellar recommendations. We drank wine and some of the beers they were offering. The list was small yet tasty. The pasta dishes were phenomenal and the fire Fritto is an absolute must. Although I didn’t get the burger, my two guests said it was very delectable. My daughter had the pasta and ate the whole thing. It wasn’t under seasoned (which is typically a thing for kid’s menu items). We brought a cake so we didn’t try dessert. I can’t wait to see what they put on the menu next time.

I’ll start with the summary – Panacea is spectacular. The food, the service, the atmosphere – all absolutely amazing.
Food: There really aren’t enough superlatives. Everything was *so* delicious. For appetizers, we had the heirloom tomato salad with house-made ricotta, and the mussels. Not a crumb left behind. Then we got to try the pasta (homemade in house by one of the owners) with the most perfectly flavorful sauce – the exact quote from my partner upon tasting the pasta: “You can tell that this was made with a lot of love.” ❤️ We both had the steak for our main course – cooked perfectly, and everything seasoned so well. My partner couldn’t resist trying the homemade ice cream for dessert – honey blueberry flavor, which he said was fantastic. (Side note: My partner and I have some dietary restrictions that make us especially particular about restaurant choices, so we are both *thrilled* to have a new favorite restaurant where we can both find lots of options on the menu.)
Service: Wonderful. We felt very welcomed from the moment we stepped in (and the place was packed, so I’m glad we had a reservation), our waiter was patient and helpful with the menu, and the owners are just so lovely – it’s such a beautiful thing to witness this young couple making their dream into a reality. We could feel the care and passion they bring to every detail, from the design of the space to the menu that evolves with the seasonal availability of ingredients.
Atmosphere: In addition to the warm and welcoming design, there’s a lovely outdoor patio, and the property itself is stunning.
We have a new favorite restaurant in the Mid Hudson Valley, and we look forward to returning. Congratulations to the owners on this amazing accomplishment.
