We had a 6:30 reservation but arrived 10–15 minutes early and were seated right away since the dining room had plenty of open tables. We ordered oysters, ceviche, and soup to start — all three appetizers were brought out at the same time without checking if we preferred them staggered.
The oysters were fresh and the soup tasted good, but the ceviche was just okay.
The bigger issue was the wine service. We ordered a bottle of white wine to enjoy with our seafood, but waited nearly 30 minutes with all the appetizers already on the table and still no wine. We had to ask multiple times before it finally arrived — and unfortunately it was room temperature. They told us it was their last bottle and needed 15–20 minutes to chill it on ice. Since our food was already getting warm on the table, we asked for a different chilled bottle, but that too took a long time to come out. By the time we finally had wine, it had been about 40 minutes since we were seated.
Service continued to slip. A buss boy arrived carrying entrées for the wrong table, trying to make room on our already full table of empty appetizer plates. This created more confusion before our actual dishes — a rack of lamb and sides — eventually arrived.
The food itself was good, but the overall experience was disappointing. Even at the end, our wine glasses were empty and our server walked past without checking the bottle or refilling them. We had to ask him to please check our bottle and pour the remaining wine.
For a restaurant with premium pricing and a long-standing reputation, we expected far better service and attention to detail. The staff felt untrained and unorganized throughout the evening. The manager did come by after we’d already paid and offered dessert on the house, which we appreciated, but at that point we were no longer in the mood.
Unfortunately, based on this visit, we won’t be returning. I hope this constructive feedback helps them improve, because the food deserves service that matches the price point and reputation.
We mentioned that it was our anniversary, and they brought out a very nice celebratory cake for us.
I will say, on a Saturday night there was live music, and the musician was just off in the corner. So that part was a little awkward. Live music should either be front and center or missing entirely.
