A family favorite! The Pamela’s Diners are all uniquely decorated. This one has amazing, life-like murals of people enjoying life. No pictures because others were eating around us…. But it’s fun for littles to pick out all the scenes.
Love Pamela’s crepe style pancakes. So delicious. The bacon is always perfection. The potatoes are always stellar; sadly, I didn’t have room for them .
This place is hopping on the weekend – if you can make it during the week it’s much easier to get in and out. Though, people watching while waiting for a table is always a fun spectator sport!
Our server was amazing. He was prompt, polite and very personable!

The pancakes are work the hype! I was told to go by some locals, and it did not disappoint! First time I got the short stack and that was perfect, second time got the chocolate chip and banana and it was a little too much for me, but still good. I will say skip the coffee – it was bitter no matter what I added to it, but the pancakes are definitely worth the hype and super cheap for the amount of food!

My food was fresh and tasted great. I ordered two Morning After breakfast specials with strawberry crepes and a side of lyonnaise potatoes. The only issue was that one order of crepes was twisted up and a little messy in the container. Aside from that, everything was good. I forgot a picture of my eggs & ham.

Great breakfast joint! Good vibes and the crepe style pancakes are incredible. The French Toast was a bit too sweet for me but all in all, very tasty place with great service.

Pamela’s Diner in Shadyside brings that classic breakfast energy with a local twist. The space is a decent size, typical breakfast dinning. The staff is friendly, and the vibe leans nostalgic without feeling outdated.
I went with pancakes, bacon, and eggs—fried over medium. The pancakes were super thin. Almost crepe-like. The batter was solid, and they hit the spot without feeling heavy. Bacon was crisp, eggs were cooked right.
Things to note:
Expect a wait during peak days / hours. They also have other locations.

My 1st time here & my husband came 30 years ago. There was a queue of a dozen people before 8am opening. We were impressed with the delicious food, generous portions, great value for value & prompt service. Our waitress Christine was professional & attentive. Our food came out hot within 10 min from ordering. Charli posed for a as I her tshirt. I gave verbal feedback to Melissa that we felt Pamela’s Diner was a well oiled machine – efficient cooperation between front of house (servers) & back of house (cooks). We love supporting local businesses at home & when we travel domestically & internationally. Only downside was the acoustics inside – very noisy.
(we were at table L5)

Just another iconic Pittsburgh diner, this one in the heart of Shadyside on Walnut Street. Visited on a busy Saturday morning, but waited no more than 15 mins or so for a table. The service was good, the staff friendly, and the breakfast quite good. The interior could use a little polishing up, but otherwise, it’s still an icon.
